how do you use the different glove gems?

I have figured out how to use the first two but I don't know how to use the third and forth gems. All I have figured out for the other two is that by pressing the side buttons on the Vive controller it causes it to glow a teal-ish green color, I'm not sure which gem does this because I had all but the last gem which restarts the game. Any info would be useful.
