Parry, playstation controller

Hint keeps saying to press down on D-pad(IE the burp button) to parry, but it does nothing(but burp or fart) and seems I cannot do this.
Also a few other things keep showing the Down on D-Pad as the key to press(which I know is wrong, like block, attack, etc, hints keep telling me to press down on D-pad)

Any fix for this?

Are you playing on PC or console?

pc with ps5 controller.
To add to this that every 'new' function the game introduces, it always tells me to press this same button. Later on when I actually use it, it shows proper button prompts, but during the whole tutorial part, every new 'function' was 'press down on D-pad' prompt.
