Couple questions about mechanics
Really enjoying this, just have a few things I don't completely understand. I've been in the Mars city for a couple days doing races and jobs.

Do you ever unlock the ability to get a new bike or expand the core you put addons in? There seem to be black boxes that look like you could maybe expand them, and with the placement of the initial power source, I have trouble fitting much in usefully besides the extra $ and $ magnet mods.

How does the bounty hunting work? I thought I would just have to catch up to him based on the tooltip mentioning higher reward for faster catch but maybe you just have to win a race?

Does your reputation from doing crimes go down on its own, or are you supposed to clear it temporarily at the screen that says something like 'protection from cops for 3 days'? Nothing's happened to me despite it being at a couple thousand. I'm assuming that's the penalty if you get caught by cops? And is that the only reason to put your money in the bank?

Did I miss something with playing purchased records on the street or is it just randomly picked when you spawn in/leave the record store? It doesn't seem to matter which one I was listening to in the record store.

Bike Parts - you can use the green power cells to draw a line between the red node in the center, to the red piece on each part.

This will allow you to place 3-5 pieces depending on how you fit them in. They can't rotate, so you have to be crafty with placement.

Bounty Hunting - shoot him a ton until he explodes!

Reputation - this goes up from stealing bike parts, and doing missions in Night Life District. It goes down a little each time you complete a non-illegal activity. Cops will start looking for you generally once you're around ODB notoriety. Paying for protection just makes it so you cannot be caught for 3 days, while continuing to do illegal activity. I also recommend depositing money in the bank when you have a lot.

Records - you can only have control over the specific track you select while in the record store. Otherwise each time a track plays, it will randomly select one of your purchased tracks. Right now it is setup so it can randomly choose the same track multiple times in a short time span. We're looking into a way to have it play through all songs first, before looping, but currently that is not implemented.

Areas - Mars is the bulk of the game, but once you beat the game you can replay on NG+. Currently there's an unlockable gun, hidden tapes unlock stuff, you can choose a new gun, and your outfit changes. We're looking into making enemies harder in NG+.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Are hidden tapes just a rare thing that pops up in random races/events or are they tied to specific things and missable? I know I've missed at least one back on Earth, but I haven't even seen them do anything or even a count of how many I've found so I don't know what they do.

They're random in races, and will keep appearing until you collect them all. Each one unlocks a new color of HUD, which you can select in Settings.
Thanks for all your help! Just finished the game with the first weapon. I did see some bugginess with the herding job, where kangaroos on the fence at the top of the screen would get stuck and not be able to run away from my bike properly. I also got all the way to the grand prix without realizing there was a full results screen after every race/job, which would have made things a lot less confusing if I hadn't just mashed past the basic 'you win/you lose' initial screen. Maybe put a little message like 'wait for results' or something so people don't miss that? Otherwise really loved it.
I got one more. There are money monitors in the pizza delivery job. Lots of them, in fact. Can you break them? I can't do it with pizzas [obviously I guess]. Are they just there as obstacles or did I miss something?

Hey Moe, thanks for your feedback! The money monitors in the pizza job were supposed to be a bit of a joke and obstacle, but I don't think it came across as clearly as the developer wanted :)

So...they're not intended to be broken, just get in your way and taunt you. Bastards!
