May I assume there will be dlc allowing us to eventually move about and do quests in other areas of the world map? Or is it just there to illustrate where different creatures and characters come from?

It's just for some background fluff and explanation of where some of the different races come from. I plan to keep making games in the same world. The one I'm working on right now is in the northern kingdoms where there is open hostility between the elven and human fiefdoms. There are several encounters where the elves and humans are fighting and the player's party has the choice to help one or the other and doing so has ramifications for later levels.
