This game is great, but it does have it`s issues
The bosses. Do i need to say more? They are bullet spongey, absolutely unnecessary and they feel like somebody just shat all over this beautiful game. The first one has way too much splash damage, the second kills you nearly instantly so i switched to easy (and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dev put the only heals on some random ass hidden crates that block half of the healthfruit(which is set up to be a thing that you find on plates or on stems, you know, good game design ♥♥♥♥.)) the third boss is a bit of a chore with you just walking in circles. Dunno about whats next. The guns. The revolver is barely useful. If it was used as a replacement for the sniper mode for your carbine then it would be good (you could duel wield before) but now you can always just TP straight into someones face and give them a face full of dark matter. The first secret weapon is kinda ass, but atleast it has a use against sap. I don`t know how to get the sword, and i still don`t know why did the dev make the weapon that was so prominent in the first game locked behind something. I don`t know why did we get 2 full autos when one is useful in only 1 firing mode and the other is the only hitscan. The poor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is actually nerfed if you buy the semi auto upgrade because, yeah you can use it one handed, but it fires so much slower when you actually manually operated it. NPC`s. Most enemies are annoying and way to deadly. From having hitscan before you do to having literal lasers that kill you in 5 seconds it`s just isn`t fun fighting against some of this bs. This game really needs a lot of features explained or at least dumbed down so that it would be more of how the first game was, and not another bonelab-boneworks situation where you will be entering overtime over and over because of the rolly polly hologram combine. It`s a great game for sure, and i really don`t want to hate on it, but nobody will actually get a better experience if somebody doesn`t voice a bad opinion about it. Also please bring back duel wielding.

Making the character faster and more agile would have been a better solution. I personally had much more fun running, jumping and strafing around ennemies in other VR shooting games.

You can always open the console and type "movespeed 2", or even "movespeed 3" if you want to pretend you're in DOOM.

- More enemies need weak spots, if not for damage than for at least temporarily stunning them or some other useful effect. I noticed that the centaurs (aetherbacks or whatever they're called) would throw their shot into the air when hit, but the game explicitly tells you that they have no weak spots. Far too many enemies have no weakspots. Why do VR games have enemies with weak spots and then take them away (Alyx I'm looking at you for rewarding players with good aim and then simply not).
- Some of the weapons could use improvements, a bit of a rebalancing. The revolver especially, which is only useful if you hit a weak spot, otherwise almost all enemies just damage-sponge it. The AK-47 for example is just... painful when the plasma SMG has holographic sights and is actually less of a pain to reload. It just feels redundant.
- The bosses need more dialog to help understand what they are doing or what they are. A health bar really would be appreciated. This was especially a problem for me with the first boss because I thought it was night-invulnerable and kept dying while throwing grenades at it (BEFORE it summoned its shield). I saw that the texture changed where I shot it but it was unclear to me whether it was actually hurting the boss or just temporarily changing its surface. It would help if they had a health bar to deal with their sponginess.
- Why no security baton? Hell, there were times I wished I could have a crowbar in my off-hand, but the crowbar does not damage enemies (I checked).
wdym the ak sucks it is literally the only non secret hitscan that dunks on enemies from all ranges and irons are fine for shooting, no need for your western stuff ontop. But yeah nearly all of the points you said are valid. (tip for the ak: use a magazine to detach the already fitted on with a touch to the release lever and then flip the gun around and do a swift pull to your bicep with your off hand to chamber a round.) (also the ak literally has close to no recoil, even less than the pistol or smg. so using it one handed is actually viable)

The AK-47 is just one of the best weapons in the game! High damage, good accuracy at all ranges, easy to use and to reload. Its only drawback is that it cannot be upgraded. The SMG, even fully upgraded, felt so weak and unconvenient in comparison that I never used it.

Agree with that, AK is just a better rifle than the SMG and that's sad. More powerful, more accurate even without a sight, usable even long range with only one hand...
But I like even more the church weapons. Sadly you have to chooses between both, even on NG+...

Most enemy have head, and on the one that doesn't, only few are too tanky and can be defeated with strong weapons without ammo issue.

Agree, that's why I've spend most of my time with this weapon. Only switching when the fat boys came in town. So in late game it was mostly revolver and grenade launcher.

For the bosses obviously, I had to use all my weapons as you dont have enough ammo with only one...

the revolver is like a squirt gun loaded with piss: it only annoys most people. the only way for me to use it is if i got all the upgrades but i can actually just spend them elsewhere and get better, faster weapons for cheaper. [/quote]

yes, the bosses should have specific parts or moments where you could lay 4x the damage or something, they do have some quirks that you must notice! for a VR game, i think its annoying as hell being glued to the loading screen, non flowing VR sessions become a chore but overall the game is quite good(yes, i have raged quit 2 times already ahaha) but until now the most broken thing i came across with is the boat part, clunky as hell, guns get stuck everywhere, you can't see a thing because for some reason everything is dark inside the boat but the light doesn't turn on, the rudder of the boat doesn't care about me or the boat, its just there, it was really really coma induncing cringe on that level

So far the bosses are great. The Lava boss was awesome and the tree boss was hilarious.
I think the game is challenging so that it gets my attention in a way I haven't felt in a long time.
Teleportation may be handicapped in terms of regular movement style, but this game uses it really well as a gameplay mechanic along with the normal movement and it lets you do frantic things while figuring out how to defeat each boss or cluster of badguys.

For me this game has been completely amazing so far with only very minor little glitches that I barely noticed.

The solution is to use the teleportation feature and the jump mode. Those dinosaur style bosses are aggressive and fast... but they're also stupid. You need to position yourself where it can't quite reach you (using jumping/teleportation), then just patiently pick it off.

The great sea battle is more of a pain in the ass than any of the boss fights put together imo. It's so frustrating as it pretty much debuffs your ability to teleport, on a tiny boat. And the fricking gun sway attached to this game engine... oh geeze im glad to beat the game. Don't wanna look back

the AK47 is an easy solution, comrade! its hitscan makes it bearable enough for you to want to play the game a second time

Personnally I think the boss fights are epic as hell. Difficulty is part of what makes them good. It's like Doom 2016 and Eternal, first you get your ass kicked, then you start to understand their pattern and what you have to do and then try to beat them. I just beat the church robot patriarch, the fight was hard and exhausting and I cried for at least one checkpoint for phase 2 or 3, but this feeling when I finally beat him :D
Vertigo 1 bosses were inventive, but not that great, especially the first one.

Normally, I don't like spongey bullet enemies, but I don't know, the boss attacks, the way you have to dash to avoid their attack and the scenery got me in. I didn't even finish the game and I really want to do a second run ahah

I personally hate boss fights and wish there was a skip feature. (don't give me "git good", that's not why I game honestly. For me, I just like the story and gunplay, and puzzle solving. My opinion: boss fights are just a outdated, frustrating point that I wish I could skip. Just have an option - people who want the boss fight can have it, but for those who paid full price and don't why not have an option? I really dislike playing a fight over and over until you "figure out the pattern" and then it's a timing game. Here, with the wonky controls of picking new guns, reloading, teleporting, and the insufferable crouch on the right joystick, it just annoys me.

Same, i remember only 1 "game" that had this feature and it was a mod for teardown called "AGGRESSION". Bosses there suck so bad
