Creating wire from scratch

Hi,
So I am having trouble now finding broken wire so I can make normal wire.
I thought you could make it in a fabricator but it seems not.
Is there a way to create wire from scratch from ores etc? According to wiki you can make it with plastic, gold and copper with the fabricator but I do not have that option available in the fabricator

also look at salvaging crashed satellites, old base components or random crates - tend to have broken stuff in them

Yea been salvaging from the start but its becoming very hard to get any now

Isn't wires made in the 3d printer with rubber and... uhm... gold and copper?

And rubber is made from carbon and huydrogen

Right now I wouldn't trust most resource sites. With the huge patch last week changing 90% of the crafting I doubt most sites are up to date

As of 6/27/2021, the correct way to make wire is to build a printer, and power it will a solar panel. The recipe for 1x wire is: 1x Gold, 1x Copper, and 1x Rubber. If you can't find anymore broken wires in your world to create a printer and solar panel (both require wires), my recommendation would be to start a new save, and do your best to build a printer/solar panel early on.

Find the abandoned camps. Make sure to loot everything in the crate then leave it be. come back to it in 10-20 minutes and it will have new loot in them. just make sure to take all of the loot out even if you don't need the item.
