In BT3 - they drop in the final level of the starter dungeon, where you encounter Brilhasti. All the encounters on that floor have a chance to drop them.
Please tell me you didn't spend four years looking for it
i spent 4 years looking for it, but only 5 hours of it was gameplay
Ah thanks. The Master Key in BT2 does that as a passive equipped item too.
although by the time you get there you'll have already had one hell of a time dealing with spinners, so probably better to farm one from the arboria sacred grove
Which makes it a bad place for farming anything that isnt endgame gear. While anything can drop, anything *else* can also drop. So the odds of anything in particular are pretty bad.
Interesting to know though. I never "farmed" for gear, but did actively power level new mages a points in BT2 and 3. During BT3 I had acquired several nospin rings that I slapped on various alts so someone always had one equipped. They end up dropping from that roulette wheel at some point and not so hard to find at that point.
And BT 1....
