You likely were using APAR on the journal map. If you cast APAR manually, you will be asked to enter a vector (Y, X, Z). So if you are on Level 5 of Mangar's tower, in spot 11,11 you would enter -11 -11 -5 to reach spot 0,0. Note that BT is a bit weird as the coordinates are listed as Y X Z instead of X Y Z.
You can also change the level of the dungeon you are looking at by clicking the "Stairs Up" or "Stairs Down" icon at the top of the journal. This way you can APAR to any level that is not protected without needing to figure the coordinates.
Actually, you can look at any dungeon level you have explored, even in OTHER dungeons! Just like if you had the maps on paper in front of you and you were flipping through.
You cannot teleport outside of the dungeon you are currently in, however.
Sir, you just made my day!
There should be an indicator of this feature inside the game. Had I known it before, I would have saved a lot of time (and spell points :P ).
