Lamps and torches?
How do you use lamps and torches? I buy them and equip them but as soon as I go into the wine cellar I'm in darkness from the first room. I can use a spell to light up the way (and do), but then the darkness rooms in the sewer get me (once you're in darkness is there any way to get light again without exiting and reentering the wine cellars?).

How should I use lamps and torches?

Equip it, then use it

To use a lamp or torch, first equip it, then use it. If you are on squares that have Darkness, any light will keep going out. In that case, use your compass together with the journal map to find your way.

Doh! Thanks, I didn't think of using it.

I guess I only need one lamp active for the party at a time, right?

Yea just one will do.

When you are in a darkness area, you can use a light spell (preferably Lesser/Greater Revelation) to aid in mapping. The light will extinguish, but it will update your map first. :)

Darkness areas with spinners/anti-magic make that much much harder though.

Yea I'm currently on Mangar Tower 3, it's a right bugger for darkness, anti magic, spinners and traps lol.

Excellent level. Just wait until Oscon's Fortress Level 2 in BT2. Mangar's Tower is a cakewalk.

I've never played past this game, can't wait to fire up BT2.

BT2 is a lot harder and more rewarding experience though especially in the death snare puzzle rooms which are timed by the way i had s lot of fun in them not

You just need leave the darkness area (usually one isolated room) for be able normaly light again, no need to leave whole dungeon. I dont explore darkness with light so I see it on map as greyed area and can plan passing accordingly if needed.

Can use bard ability for light too (unlimited with certain items). I am using spells 90% time as most unreveal secret doors as well.

Might want to ask that question in the BTIV discussion group. (https://steamcommunity.com/app/1091980/discussions/0/)
