I found that doing a google search for 'The Bard's Tale manual', and then looking at the image results of that search, you can find lots of sites that have a downloadable manual in PDF format. Here's a link to where I found one:
https://www.mocagh.org/ea/bt1aus-manual.pdf
...but I'm sure there's better quality scans you could find through that google search under images as well. Cheers!
All you need to know. Maps, items, riddle answers etc.
Another hint from me, create your party, remove all but one of them (unless you're playing the legacy with a special slot instead of slot 7, in which case remove all of them) add all of the premades, unequip everything on the premades, remove the premades (unless, again, legacy in which case leave 1) add your party members, enter the city, equip all their gear, remove the last premade and add your last dude. You just got a bunch of free gear that should have you safe until you find mithril.
There's also this, which has max stats for starting characters by race, hp/sp per level for classes.
One thing you should be aware of, rogues now have a visible Hide/Identify (traps) and disarm skill when you level, and from what I can figure out that caos at 6 + dex over 14 or luck over 14. You can see chances to disarm now, so I highly recommend using hp training techniques on them.
Another nice piece, in the original when you levelled, if you had enough exp to gain 2 levels, after your first advancement, your exp would be "reset" to exp needed -1. In this, it DOES NOT! So once you get your magician and conjuror to level 13 and swap to sorceror, you can just grind the catacombs like stupid until you have to leave, without having to worry about doing the 9 wight fight, leave, level. 9 wights, 5 ghouls leave advance over and over.
And finally, if you level wizard as both your casters 3rd class, then when you trade to magician/conjuror, the overall exp per level is lower, so your mages will be incredibly powerful needing like 1/4 exp of the wizard classes. More HP, more SP = win.
And THAT should be everything you need HAHAHA!
