It would take a lot of grinding to get there in BT, so I'd suggest you wait until BTII or BTIII to unlock it.

Isn't it an achievement for the the first game only?

(wizardry rules by the way)

I dont think so, but I could be wrong I assumed they were for the Bard's Tale Trilogy.

(would love to see a remaster of the early Wizardry games)

Killing the wights and ghouls near the stairs on level 3 of the Catacombs gets you around 21K xp each time. So you'll gain a level every 5 clears. 5*26 = 130 clears to hit 50. That should be doable in 2-3 hours.

Thanks for the hint, it's the last achievement I miss. The only thing I do not like about this is that my party will be completely overpowered in BT2 if I do this...

Pay a visit to the room full of 4x99 berserkers in Harkyn's Castle (assuming they are still in the remastered version, haven't got to that point myself yet). If you have a couple sorcerers in your party with MIBL, that fight goes fairly quick and gets you a massive amount of xp. Then you just APAR down a couple floors, APAR right back up and do it again.

The Berserkers are a one-time only fight in the remastered version..

Oh snap. I used to grind the heck out of them on my C64...the fights would take an hour or more each, but was so worth it.

This is also a concern for me and why I plan to wait until the later games to get this achievement. I haven't had much time to play, so I'm just finishing up the Sewers, but I plan to play BT just enough to complete the story line and max out my mages so I can turn them into Archmages right away in BTII.

Pretty easy once you have a Master Key to get into Mangar's Tower. Use an Archmage that took Magician or Conjurer as last class option. Dismiss everyone else from party. Go to Roscoe, summon 6 wind dragons (dismiss any with less than 80 or 90 HP and re-summon). Fill up spellpoints. Clear out all fights in first room on first floor of Mangar's Tower using the 6 dragons, the occasional MIBL and REST if your dragons are too damaged. Every clear should not take more than 5-6 minutes and brings an easy 120-150k exp. Leave Tower, go back in. Rinse and Repeat.

Good idea, cant you compare that with the easy fixed fights and APAR? The 32 Ghouls should easily die to one REDE and those get you 12k XP in a 7-men-party.

Good reason to not grind for lvl 50 in the first game IMO.

You could duplicate your party outside of the game. Bring one copy to 50, and swap back in the second copy to bring forward to BT2. Just be careful you don't copy the wrong way!

Noooo! I was looking forward to a brazillion battles with 396 Berserkers... Mind Blade was made for that moment

Repeat berserker battles will exist in Legacy mode once it is available. I'd like to see it in remastered as well, but alas...

After trying the static fights in Catacombs L3, I am no longer a fan of the berserker fight. It takes too long for the amount of XP you get. Those undead fights are waaay more efficient in leveling up.
