Can someone explain to me when I should switch classes?
So I got my Magician and Conjurer to level 5 and both now have level 3 spells. I could switch thm to sorcerers but should I? I read somewhere you cant go back to previous classes. If thats the case should you wait utill you max out their spells before you switch?

Basically I would like to know a plan to get the most out of my spellcasters. Should I switch now or wait and how does it work?

Eternally grateful for any help on this.

Always wait till level 13 and you get the 7th level spells. Otherwise you will never be able to change back and get those spells later.

Yeah. get to level 13, max out your spells, and then change.
And keep Wizard for the last class, since it has better HP gain and can use better items then the others, so you want it as your final class.

Thanks so much, glad I did not switch at level 5 then.

The advice back in the day was to change class from Conjuror/Magician > Sorceror > Wizard > Magician/Conjuror. The rationale being that although Wizard gets 1-8 Hp per lvl instead of 1-4, the xp needed per level is 465% higher. So a caster that takes Wizard as their final pick will actually end up with fewer Hp and Sp over time and have lower spell resistance so their own spells get ressited more often. I don't know if that's been tweaked in the remaster.

All classes need 100k XP per level after 13.

Ok, it's been significantly changed. Good to know!

If they are all the same XP after 13, then you want to end on Wizard (suposedly has access to aditional equipment) or sorcerer. Both of them get more HP per level.

In the original game. a mage that knows all spells in all classes became an Archmage, so I used to learn all the spells in each class before changing to another one. I take it the Archmages are still in this version of the game?

Archmage will be added as a class you can switch to and get spells from in BT2 the devs have said
