Emily's Secret [Spoilers]
Maybe I missed something but I could not put together what Emily's "secret" was suppose to be. Is she also trans like JJ or a lesbian?

I'm still in the middle of making my analysis video of this game so I'm not adamant about this yet, but I believe that all the dialogue we hear from Emily in that Twin Peaks style reverse voice is actually dialogue from J.J. to herself. This is further emphasized by the "I'm J.J. Macfield, who does that make you?" -line from Emily at the clocktower. It's basically just J.J. being in fight with her self image and who she really is. Maybe if we want to stretch here, she even wanted to be like Emily so that's why she sees her when she's actually struggling with herself as a some sort of coping mechanism.

I have to go through all the dialogue again and gather my thoughts, but this is where I'm at with it atm.

I had read about the theory that the Emily during JJ's dream is just a manifestation of JJ and that makes sense and I agree with it. I thought, though, that there was some mention of Emily's secret in the texts right? I think the texts from Emily are 100% from the 'real' Emily and accurate.

Also going to state that the "Emily" in the dream is most likely the female aspect of J.J. And if it wasn't for certain text messages, you could happily think that Emily didn't even exist in the real world. It's a bit confusing as she does, but I'd expect it's just J.J.'s dying mind using what J.J. knows from the "real world" to help process what is happening.

im not playing but watching the youtuber...

but i watch it till the end...

my conclusion is that J.J macfield (this is very smart by the maker of this game because we don't know what is J.J is so we kinda jump in too conclusion that JJ macfield is actaully a girl )
but after saw the ending and all the massage... the game is actually saying that J.J macfield is a boy that doesn't know who he is ( lack identity)... so he jump into transgender ( i thought he is gay but nope) because lack of father figure ( idk if this is a thing )... in the end from a massage we know that he is being bully because he using girl stuff and probably boy who act like a girl and his parent know that he is sick and transgender... and so he commited a suicide...

TL;DR

1. he is act like a girl
2. he is being bully
3. everybody knew
4. he shame his self
5. suicide
6. he is a boy not a girl !!!
7. the one in the clock tower is his mind
8. in the last chapter he dicided that he wanted to become him self and thus he destroy the monster...
9. because the help of F.K he regain his memory and him self

i like this game but im going to wait for sale...

im bad at grammar... and this is my opinion and some of it a fact for the game it self...

JUST BECOME WHO YOU ARE !!!

The secret is that she is transgender or at least gender queer or a crossdresser.
I could see how it’d very much look like she was a lesbian from the texts between her mom and emily, but the ending really made it come to full form. The JJ you play as in game is most likely represented by how she dresses, expresses, and sees herself internally, with the demon chasing her being that feeling of despair that most lgbt people go through when it comes to the public eye of their peers and family.

The real J.J tried to commit suicide but F.K and the doctor managed to save him in the end?

Unless I'm severely misunderstanding this summary, I think you need to go watch those Let's Play videos a few more times. Or at least the first few seconds of the game. I'll offer a hint: The moral of a story that opens by saying "No one is wrong for being who they are" is probably not "People who aren't normal are 'sick' and need to learn to become like everybody else". I'll let you try to process the rest on your own.

I too wonder what Emily's secret is. Although there are comments stating that the secret is J.J. Being trnasgendered, I doubt that is the secret that Emily was talking about because Emily's secret, as briefly mentioned in the text messages, we're shown before J.J.'s as Emily appeared in the game. Moreover, the text mentioned that Emily's mother was supportive of Emily's secret. It seems like Emily's mom was unaware that J.J. Was trans. I would imagine Emily's mother would like and say that the clothes found in J.J.'s room were Emily's. The secret is also what bonded the two friends together. Remember that both Emily and J.J. hated each other prior to knowing about one another? However, was th e conversation about Evil and JJ not liking each other initially between J.J. and Abby, F.K., or Emily? If Abby then it might be JJ projecting herself into Emily, but tpit would not explain thewhole text conversation between JJ and Emily. My guess is that Emily is either a lesbian or trans, which allowed her to bond with Macfield and to help Macfield accept her own gender identity.

My theory is that Emily's secret is that she is eitner bi or lesbian. Because Emily is wealthy with a mother who loves her the way she is, J.J. Is envious of Emily, and as a result, looks up to her as her role model. We know how that J.J. isn't rich because of her interaction with her mom and her teacher. As such, it would make no sense to view that Emily's mom is a projecting of J.J.'s mom.
J.J. sees Emily as a confident, independent woman. This is why I believe that there is a version of J.J. that is Emily.

Emily doesn't have a serect, that we know of

its what JJ was saying when she came out to Emily

Emily is what the trans community would say "goals" aka what JJ wants to be, hence why Emily represent both JJ's will to live and wish to be seen as a woman

but yeah its implied Emily is a queer herself

also what? lXlTEClXl thats not what the story is about

Congratulations, you missed the entire point of the game, it's pretty much the exact oposite of what you write.

Yes, JJ is transgender, but the entire point of the game is her journey to accept that part of herself. The suicide attempt is because of how people including her own mother treat her when the secret is out. Honestly how someone can so blatantly missunderstand the game is beyond me, seriously, the first thing you see is the text "No one is wrong for being who they are"

May take is that Emily is asexual. In the clocktower there are lines that hint on that. Don't remember them exactly but they are paraphrased "Is sex really the only point of a relationship". I think there where other subtle hints in the text messages.

wasnt "Is sex really the only point of a relationship" a reference to what her mom said about JJ being a heir to the family? I see that line as her mom saying that JJ only purpose in life is to have sex to continue the family line and JJ believing parts of it as evident by her following message to Emily that she is seeking treatment for her "illness"
