I have to go through all the dialogue again and gather my thoughts, but this is where I'm at with it atm.
I had read about the theory that the Emily during JJ's dream is just a manifestation of JJ and that makes sense and I agree with it. I thought, though, that there was some mention of Emily's secret in the texts right? I think the texts from Emily are 100% from the 'real' Emily and accurate.
but i watch it till the end...
my conclusion is that J.J macfield (this is very smart by the maker of this game because we don't know what is J.J is so we kinda jump in too conclusion that JJ macfield is actaully a girl )
but after saw the ending and all the massage... the game is actually saying that J.J macfield is a boy that doesn't know who he is ( lack identity)... so he jump into transgender ( i thought he is gay but nope) because lack of father figure ( idk if this is a thing )... in the end from a massage we know that he is being bully because he using girl stuff and probably boy who act like a girl and his parent know that he is sick and transgender... and so he commited a suicide...
TL;DR
1. he is act like a girl
2. he is being bully
3. everybody knew
4. he shame his self
5. suicide
6. he is a boy not a girl !!!
7. the one in the clock tower is his mind
8. in the last chapter he dicided that he wanted to become him self and thus he destroy the monster...
9. because the help of F.K he regain his memory and him self
i like this game but im going to wait for sale...
im bad at grammar... and this is my opinion and some of it a fact for the game it self...
JUST BECOME WHO YOU ARE !!!
I could see how it’d very much look like she was a lesbian from the texts between her mom and emily, but the ending really made it come to full form. The JJ you play as in game is most likely represented by how she dresses, expresses, and sees herself internally, with the demon chasing her being that feeling of despair that most lgbt people go through when it comes to the public eye of their peers and family.
Unless I'm severely misunderstanding this summary, I think you need to go watch those Let's Play videos a few more times. Or at least the first few seconds of the game. I'll offer a hint: The moral of a story that opens by saying "No one is wrong for being who they are" is probably not "People who aren't normal are 'sick' and need to learn to become like everybody else". I'll let you try to process the rest on your own.
J.J. sees Emily as a confident, independent woman. This is why I believe that there is a version of J.J. that is Emily.
its what JJ was saying when she came out to Emily
Emily is what the trans community would say "goals" aka what JJ wants to be, hence why Emily represent both JJ's will to live and wish to be seen as a woman
but yeah its implied Emily is a queer herself
also what? lXlTEClXl thats not what the story is about
Emily is "goals"? Haha, I really like that saying.
Emily is "goals"? Haha, I really like that saying. [/quote]
yeah its a nice double meaning
Congratulations, you missed the entire point of the game, it's pretty much the exact oposite of what you write.
Yes, JJ is transgender, but the entire point of the game is her journey to accept that part of herself. The suicide attempt is because of how people including her own mother treat her when the secret is out. Honestly how someone can so blatantly missunderstand the game is beyond me, seriously, the first thing you see is the text "No one is wrong for being who they are"
May take is that Emily is asexual. In the clocktower there are lines that hint on that. Don't remember them exactly but they are paraphrased "Is sex really the only point of a relationship". I think there where other subtle hints in the text messages.
wasnt "Is sex really the only point of a relationship" a reference to what her mom said about JJ being a heir to the family? I see that line as her mom saying that JJ only purpose in life is to have sex to continue the family line and JJ believing parts of it as evident by her following message to Emily that she is seeking treatment for her "illness"
