How is the damage calcultated?
I am wondering, because this game looks like what I always dreamt of when I was 12 years old:

Having a game that does not only has hitpoints, but where you can damage specific areas of battleships and they then sink based on physics.

But after looking at the trailer, it seems there is one big health bar and when it's empty, the ship is destroyed...

So... can you destroy individual components or is this just another "hp" based game?

Having a game that does not only has hitpoints, but where you can damage specific areas of battleships and they then sink based on physics: Flooding is simulated but it is not very obvious.
You could turn on developer mode in the game, and by click "Misc" button, there is a panel which will show how damage is calculated. By press "O" in the game you could view each module's status, whether its normal, repairing or destroyed.
