Folks!
Yes, you are right, we had to delay it. It's not cool, we know that, but we didn't get a working version of Prison Sim on time, therefore we're giving developers enough time to finish it.
We want to keep a nice atmosphere between us at PlayWay and our developers, therefore we don't push them to work for 20h a day. We expect to release our games on the dates we set, but often games grow significantly during the production or meet unexpected problems, and developers aren't able to finish them on time.
As a developer, we support many developers - almost each of our games is created by a different team. Most teams are small, about 4-10 proffesionals working on these titles, so every change or addition takes time. We allow our developers to create games the way they want to. Some ideas might sound simple, but when it comes to actual production of the game, it gets harder and more complicated over time. That's why we had some delays recently. Sometimes games we get don't pass our QA tests as well, this might delay game for a month or two as well, but we do not want to release buggy games, as we've learned our lesson on Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, when a couple of patches was necessary.
Sorry again for the delay. Once we'll get a more specific information from the developer about estimated time when they expect to finish the game, we'll reveal it to you :)
If you chave any questions, pop ma a DM on our official PlayWay Games Discord Server, I'll be happy to ask (there's a link with an invitation in another post).
Please be patient, we are doing what we can!
Matt
I think they are learning that being quiet is better than any public communication outside of copy and paste.
..tick..tock..tick..tock..tick..tock..
Meanwhile, lots of other great games out there to try from other devs.
No, it is not terrible that there is no news on the game…. You know... you don’t even realize how often unexpected things suddenly occur (a change of an employee, a change of concept for the better, builds, patches, etc.) and everything needs to be under control. Why release a poor game when one can take more time and publish something really cool. I think that's what you are counting on, that the game would be amazing, right?
