I feel like the punishments should indeed affect the inmate in their behaviours like for example if you leave them on isolation room they will be less agressive and stuff like that.

I want to add that imho the punishments should start immediately.
If you send someone to the iso cell because he starts a fight in the prison yard, you dont wait until the yard time is over so you can bring him there, he should be removed from the yard in an instant by the other guards.
