Good nether to run with a saia/summon build?
As per title, I'm currently looking for a nether to keep Saia company.

I'm inspecting all enemies and my random animate dead summons every round for nice traits but so far nothing strikes my fancy for this particular situation.

I haven't played the previous games in the series so no experience with nethers, and advice would be appreciated!

Edit: would the envy trait for an invidia sin work? It is supposed to set it's stats to the highest of my other creature's respective stats, but it does not seem to do that as an animate dead summon.

Mumu, the starting death creature, is a good one since you're not guaranteed to find a good tank in your summons and he synergises well with saia. Give him an artifact with starts with taunt and have him provoke and he can take a lot of hits.

Ashmouth Cerberus has a trait called spell tap - you can't cast spells but you have 3 more gem slots and give all your gems to everyone - works really well for a nether creature, because they can use any spell gems. Sadly it doesn't seem to do silly things with saia's Daybreaker trait - was hoping it would add the cerberus' spell gems to the summoned creatures and so then add the spell gems multiple times to saia, but no dice! Despite that it's still great for giving your summoned creatures a good lexicon of spells.

Another good one is the dragon soldier, as I dunno how your luck with summons is but my summons almost always had gaaarbage speed (possibly because my only summon gem was summon life), so missed a ton of attacks - and every time they miss my dragon hits everyone for 35% of his int!

I haven't found one of these buut, in the previous games one of the rift dancer types has all effects that activate when a creature dies will activate twice? So if that one is still in the game, I've found a spellgem in this one where you can just flat out kill an ally creature and gain its stats. So you kill off one of your summons with that, you gain its stats twice, and it explodes twice from your death magic perk dealing a 40% of its max hp to everyone, then you summon another one in its place!

Thanks!

You know, I really like the dragon soldier and the rift dancer ideas but I had to go for Mumu as soon as you mentioned tank. Because that's really what I need now and I'm guessing there will be more opportunities to make nethers later on (and I'll be looking for that rift dancer for sure).

Will keep an eye out for a better taunt artifact. Go a chance to taunt on hit on a shield, there was no option to start battle with taunt. Maybe on another artifact type.

I haven't really had a speed issue. I was lucky to get an animate dead gem as my second summon gem (just a couple of levels after summon life which I didn't find till level 32!), and that's when I invested in horrorshow. It's not been often that speed has wrecked me, though it has happened, but it's mostly been a few enemy traits synergising to comically disatrous effect, lol.

Well, I got nether speed aura on Mumu, so yay speed? Mumu's speed is not great but better than nothing. Hopefully it can be upgraded or rerolled.

That's a very devious (nice) combo you found there!

I've discovered there is an Itherian Lich that gives 5 random buffs to creatures summoned by his Summon/Animate Undead spells, together with Death Mage Traits and the Necro Grimoire trait it seems like there is a really powerful combo
