Height or dunk packages?
Some slasher builds allow contact dunks only at tiny sizes, would you recommend to be taller or to get the dunk packages e.g. as a ss slasher?

It depends. Lets get one thing straight, if you plan on playing a slasher to dunk and posterize people this is my recommendation:

Don't.

If you play with the mentallity of wanting to posterize someone you will get swated, blocked, demolished more times then you can count. The best slashers use their build to score on defenders when they are not infront of the rim and are left in the dust. Off ball movement is your best friend. Trust me getting 1 posterizer every 10th attempt isn't worth it.

As far as your question goes id recommend slightly taller cos its helps alot on defense when it comes to switching and rebounding. You will get fancy dunks on fastbreaks anyway regardless what height you are as a slasher but small guys will almost have no chance dunking on a half decent defender.

i disagree, it depends on your playstyle really. i had a playsharp at first, 6.4 super speedy etc. but could never dribble my way out of situations even with gold ankle breaker, decided to create a pure slasher at 6.6, hes still kind of speedy and has 96 contact + driving dunk, will be at 99 once i hit the cap breakers. currently a 87 ovr and i dunk most of my attempts. you just have to play patient, try cutting in and send it, as soon as you see one small gap you could sprint through, you have to try and do it.

Now when you go online, its a little different, because even if you see the gap, chances are high that people dont even know how pure slashers play or just simply want a one man show because they never pass or alley the ball to you

Edit: just look at pure slashers as kind if support roles. set screens for your sharps, bully, and constantly keep moving so you open spots you can sprint into the pain through. once you got takeover you could try a one man show yourself if you got high enough contact dunks and posterizer badge.

There is a difference between playing patient and making the right decision when seeing ''the gap'' and going in with the mindset to try to dunk on someone everytime. You just basically explained what i did. I said off ball movement is your best friend which if you don't agree for slashers is the case i assume you don't watch basketball.

Saying that someone might not have a good picture how slashers play because people don't pass them the ball online is a trivial reason because the same reason can be said about any other archtype. The online mode, specifically park can make any archtype look useless.

What you said is true. But i also said the same thing but in a different way. I didn't say never try to be agressive, i said don't go into the mindset a poster will always work because you have 99 contact dunk as i would tell a pure sharp don't expect to make every shot.

I mean its really about timing you know and matchups, againts centers or generally big men that are tall you are always going to have a hard time. But when its againts smaller guys you just gotta get used to the timing which is nothing but practice. The layup packages are subjective in my opinion but i saw alot of slashers like using the Long Athlete ones.

nah they are just fine as long as you make the right decision for a layup. and of course they can be blocked, but i also managed alot of heavily contested or smothered layups aswell
