no animal will give you leather, they will give you hide, and then u transform the hide into leather, you can get hide from wolves, bisons, deer (big animals)

yea i got killed a few times i suggest making the sharp riffle asap it`s 2 shots to kill a bison and one shot for black bear.

open inventory, select crafting, find tanning rack (I think it's called) make it and put it down, use rawhide to make leather
