Can someone please give a full explanation of how the Train systems is going to work.
Will it link player towns or just players who are friended ....

Just players who are friended being they stopped players from building next to others that are not in their guild.

thanks I was looking for more like train cars will carry stuff like that . Can we connect towns that are not in the guild but friends. Cargo shipping etc.

From what i can tell in order to build next to friends you have to be in a guild but in saying that i am unsure what the radius is so you might find you can still build close enough to each other within reason.

The trains seem mostly cosmetic at this point.

I built a track in a somewhat oval shape. The two ends almost met, but were slightly out of alignment. Seems you can't place a track piece to connect two ends of track together, that is one problem.

I've only made the first car, but is there even a way to ride on the train?

I've seen some guild build a town then circle the town with railroad essentially a rock wall all around themselves...only problem, they can't get out either. lol

They have fixed the tracks so they lay relatively flat to the ground. All of my track I could jump up onto or walk onto and none of it was blocking going past it that I could tell. I built mine after the 1.1.1 patch. Before that, the track would not follow the terrain correctly.
