Combat and Accuracy
Can someone please explain how these 2 skills work.
Does accuracy just involve long range scope weapons?
Does combat just involve melee, such as swords or fists.

Accuracy seems to get better with leveling and the more you shoot. Aim high with a bow n arrow when far away, just like real life. Sometimes a simple ax can do the trick on some animals, other bigger ones like buffalo and bears not so much.

Accuracy only works with guns and bows.

Combat only works with melee.

Do not listen to cameopin, they have no idea what they are talking about. Accuracy doesnt rise with level. You have to spend points in it.

Accuracy increases the damage your range weapon do and Combat increase the damage of melee attacks even your fist

I am not convinced accuracy increases range damage on bows. Bows at level 0 took down an animal the same as at level 24. I haven't really used guns enough to tell in my SP game.

It may have changed as I have started a couple of new worlds since I first tested. This world I put all of my points in health.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I wasted a few points on combat as
I mainly use rifles and shotguns as the primary weapons
and only now and again the sword for melee.
It would be good if we could reset the points in the skills, maybe with some
sought of payment or penalty. Anyway thanks again for the input.

Anyone know if melee damage affects harvesting? And if so, do you have a soft cap on that?

Interesting question I never thought of that. I tried the sythe to see if it
made any difference to numbers but I think its all random.

Better tools effect harvesting thats it.

I did not see a difference between the primitive hachet and metal one. Also, used a tool for harvesting plants (forgot the name, the two handed one) and I did not get more berries nor did I get more fiber.

Two handed pick and axe give two less hits then stone tools It would make sense the iron tools gave one less hit but I couldn't really tell

The better the tool, the more you get per hit. The lesser tools give one material per hit while the better metal ones give 2

You can test the actual damage increase you're getting with Accuracy using the craftable shooting range with the glass bottles (Range Tier 1 iirc), it gives actual damage numbers when you hit a bottle.
In my case I got a flat 0.784 damage boost (with all ranged weapons) at 30 points in, however that number did not go up when I bumped accuracy up to 42 points.

The bottles don't seen to be attack-able with melee weapons though, I tried with sword and spear to no effect.
