Outlaws of the Old West

Outlaws of the Old West

Anybody with a wireless headset have any issues and thoughts on how to fix it?
I have the corsair void pro wireless headset. When I start the game up it runs fine until I get into a server and then it stutters and crashes. This is with the USB plugged in. Now, if I unplug the USB the game runs fine but I have no sound. My brother and friend both have the same headset and have no issues. I've even formatted my computer thinking it was a driver issue or corrupted drivers/files, verified the games integrity, and even disabled the USB legacy in the BIOS. Im stuck in finding a solution to my problem. Cant find any help through google search and I get generic automated emails when I try to get support. I even posted it in their bug thread but no response. If anyone knows whats going on and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it. Game looks fun to play and it'd be a shame to have to refund it because of this issue. I also know its not my PC because I play more resource demanding games with no issues.

I dont even think its a bug in the game that has to do with our headsets. I just checked my windows event viewer, because I had some bios issues/windows being windows, and there are 855 errors and warnings. All originating from this game.

"The description for Event ID 2 from source Outlaws-PID460 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

ModuleManager: Module 'D3D11RHI' not found - its StaticallyLinkedModuleInitializers function is null."

"The description for Event ID 2 from source Outlaws-PID7524 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

UOutlawsWorldStateManager Result: 1 and IsError: 0 "

The following information was included with the event:

UActorChannel::ProcessBunch: Replicator.ReceivedBunch failed. Closing connection. RepObj: OutlawCharacter_BP_C /Game/Maps/MainMap/MainMap.MainMap:PersistentLevel.OutlawCharacter_BP_C_0, Channel: 30"

and thats just a few. And before you ask yes I verified the integrity of the game files, uninstalled, deleted the games files from the steam directory, reinstalled, uninstalled again, then uninstalled steam, installed again, went above and beyond on updating my drivers and taking care of windows processes that arent necessary to have. Im just going to request my money back.

My wife and both use corsair void rgb headsets and we haven't run into an issue in the game yet. Both on win10 both running nVidia gpu's. Good luck though!

I had a wireless headset awhile back that did the same but on other games. I found that it was from other wireless devices causing signal conflicts and replaced it with a wired headset. No issues after replacing with wired but then mine didn't just do it when I started a certain game it was completely random.

I have a much older SoundBlaster Tactic3D Wrath wireless headset and have none of the issues you described. Not in any other games I played too.

Seems you tried reformatting your PC but are you using the latest drivers for your headset? Try downloading it from Corsair's website and make sure your Windows is updated to the latest build. Plug the USB transmitter at the back of your PC (i.e. directly to motherboard USB) instead of auxiliary ones (usually front panel USB ports). Check your Device Manager if there's any exclamation mark on the list of hardware.

I did just that, it has something to do with iCUE. I uninstalled it and the game ran fine, i reinstall it and the game is back to having the issue. I even manually updated drivers 1 by 1 in device manager and the only drivers it updated were everything that said corsair. But open iCUE and the game stutters. iCUE is up to date, no new updates. I also dont have any other wireless products that would cause an interference. But again for the game to throw up 855 errors and warnings? Seems a little weird. Hell, I even tried different USB ports and its only this game that does it. I have never ran into a game that has had this problem before.

Its good that you are finally able to determine the root cause. I suppose then iCUE is not compatible to run with Outlaws. The game is just out two months ago so hopefully they'll add this compatibility in the future. What it needs now is players having the same issue as you to report it to the devs, specifically on this iCUE software. The more reports come in, the likely its going to catch their attention and release a fix.

Slightly off topic but every game I've played that uses the unreal engine seems to have a problem with usb audio. If its plugged in, it works fine, but if you remove it (like wanting to go to speakers) most games either, freeze, CtD or are silent, whether you plug the usb audio back in or not.

Would love to know the reason. I recently started playing the old City of Heroes again (released in 2004 i might add) and it can switch audio without issue (as can a few other games)

Are you running on Windows 10? You could easily switch form headset to speakers by left clicking on the volume icon on your systray, then click the ^ arrow to select speakers. No need to unplug USB headset transmitter.

quite true. I just found this behaviour to be unique to Unreal (so far anyway)
