Gold Bars
$2 per bar???
WTF?????

It seems the more I progress the less worthy things are.

Where is the reason/need to be better or get better?

Example.
Saved up for a mine... waited patiently for my oil to power it... went down and it cost me more in bullets then I got from the gold/silver I mined (Not really but might as well be)
Yes 2nd run through I did with a sword so there was no real cost but the time-pay ratio........ wasted.
I can sprint around on my horse and wrangle wild horses in 1/4 the time with better profit.

You've made a horse wrangling simulator.... what else is there?
(This doesn't mean NERF horse prices obviously)
***You will officially kill your game if you do***

Fix Risk vs Reward!!!!

Please... please understand.. I dont like to, or want to BASH... but wtf???
Aside from PVE RP... where is this game going???

Why is more effort less rewarding?

Killing small animals and selling pelt if more rewarding then going down into a mine with crazed miners.....
I just cant believe I even have to ask why this is!

they just need to replace gold with copper in mines then bring the gold prices back to realistic for that time.
gold should be really hard to find or prospect. it's mostly found in and around water.. panning would be a slow and realistic way of obtaining it....

Before patch 1.2.8, you would get about $50, killing the crazy miners. So no waste of bullets, unless you need more than $50 of bullets to kill 3-5 miners.

But you realize you can make ammo and getting materials to make ammo really is not difficult....

And yet, a haricut still costs $250. That's super pricey even in 2019 dollars.

Haircut is more than just a haircut, you're completely changing your character's identity which is why it's more expensive. This is one of those instances where gameplay > realism.

I still think the gold price of 2$ is good right now. With one oil mine you can make about 400$ selling silver and gold and killing the miners even two times when you don't get everything in your inventory at the first visit.
The new clothes prices and nerfed XP from tannery makes it worth to go into mine and make briks of everything you get there.
But i think all prefab building are to cheap right now with 50$
The Players need to have the feeling that buying ammunition is expensive. There is no reason to collect salt or sulvur right now.

I understand your point, but still think the barber prices need more thought. Some games charge different "remake" prices based on type of tweaks you make. Something that's appropriate to the game lore or historical context, like a simple shave or haircut, is sold at lore-appropriate prices. No different than buying a whiskey at the tavern.

Whereas stuff that would never have happened in the setting -- changing your race, sex, face, etc are mega-expensive.

If you could actually see a noticeable difference in your characters haircut, this lowering of cost would be good. But since there is no difference visually especially wearing a cowboy hat what would be the point. It isn't a haircut, it is a redo of your entire character
