No sound for Lost Song?
Hello,

I can't seem to get the sound to work for SAO LS. Does anyone know why this is? I've had the same problem with another game on steam before but it got fixed after I deleted a game streaming program, specifically XSplit. I've also tried going into Device manager to see if there was an extra sound program and there was. I deleted it, but still, nothing. I've restarted my laptop already too. This has only happened on my gaming laptop that I got this summer. Does anyone know a general fix for this problem? It seems to be something with steam and not other things, as everything else works just fine. I can watch youtube with perfect sound and play other games that aren't on steam or that I downloaded from the original games site.

Anyone know the problem?

Thank you!

You shouldn't need to delete anything that way, ever.

Anyhoo what OS are you running and have you tried going into Sound Settings and switching your Output device?
I'm running on Windows 10 and yes I have tried switching my output devices but the sound still won't work. I'm not sure what to do.

Check if the App is muted in your Volume Mixer
It's not. I checked that already too.

Well I honestly don't know. I even tried all Surround and Format options for my PC363D headset and eveything gave me audio.

You sure the volume sliders aren't at 0 in-game?
Nope, they are at max volume.

Is the game showing sound activity? (Open volume mixer and play the game in Windowed)
Have you disabled all other output devices in your Sound settings?
Have you tried connecting to a 2nd display (TV for example)
Are you using Ear/Headphones?
Do you have a USB Soundcard? (Long shot I know)
The game does not show sound activity and I have disabled all other output devices. I don't have a 2nd display that I can use to see if that works though. I am not using headphones as my headphones have a weird beeping and scratchy sound when I plug them in so I can't use headphones and I do not have a USB soundcard.

Is there not a TV on hand to hook your Laptop up to vea HDMI?
No, sadly. They are all in use in other rooms and I'm not allowed to mess with them.

In that case I honestly think it would be best for you to refund the game for now
Aww okay. I wanted to have all of the SAO games on pc, but since this one doesn't want to have sound, I guess I have very few options lol.

Is it a possible for you to do a Windows reset?
No, I don't want to wipe everything off my laptop. I think I fixed the issue though. I had Realtek audio drivers installed on laptop and when I uninstalled it, the sound came back. However, Realtek keeps reinstalling itself. I disabled any and all automatic updates for my laptop to hopefully prevent the audio driver from coming back. Now I just need to remember to manually check for updates lol
Nevermind, it reinstalled itself again.... I'm not sure how to prevent it from doing that. It reinstalls itself while my laptop is turned on. I didn't restart it and it reinstalls itself. I did, however, restart my laptop to fix the disabled audio after uninstalling realtek, but it just reinstalls itself after a few seconds of audio working.
