There are two different storylines - one in ranobe/anime and another one in game-verse. And in game-verse story both of Sinon and Leafa (even Yuuki, but it's more difficult) played SAO and was SAO-survivors. Leafa just wanted to meet her brother, so she dived into SAO with the help of her friend. Sinon was in the middle of her PTSD-treatment in Medicuboid, when something system-wise happend (when Kirito almost won against Heathcliff in the beggining of IF/HF) and because of it she was teleported to SAO.
Anyway, I will not mention much (since I'm still in the beginning of the game) BUT many things don't fit well, expecially for lost song (world of ALO):
- Sugu/Leafa playing ALO before and teaching Kirito the new features of ALO (sinse it only past a few months after the SAO event, wich both had been stuck there, and being Kirito a madman for VR games...)
- (in the same page) Leafa knows the leaders of the factions. New guys don't know the leaders and for Leafa being in SAO it meens that she could not be playing ALO for much more time than Kirito (1-2 moths tops)
- Agil mention that he also has a shop in ALO (I mean in ALO-ALO, not this new "update" of the game)
- Worse part was all the hype that all the characters have with this (first) NEW (and second) UPDATE. It lifts soo many questions... Why this game? Why this hype? Why this so soon after SAO? (the Anime revealed very well that SAO players where traumatized, some of them beyond medical help) and the worse part of all WHY ALL TOGETHER??
They are some features of the story that don't make sense, even if I exclude the anime information, only with what I saw in the beginning of lost song, and the informations posted here.
Firstly, noone said that Lost Song is taking place right after SAO. Moreoever, the time gap is pretty decent, cause everyone in party is familiar with the game mechanics, skills, etc. (main game I mean, not this Svart Alfheim update). Secondly, Leafa could do all of this pretty easily - she joined Kirito in SAO on the second year of his playthrough, on the 76th floor. So she had like two years to play ALO while her brother was captured in death game and after that joined him for n-weeks/months to help him and finish 77-100 floors.
So... what? He can't have two shops at the same time? He just relocated his business for his friends and only for the time of the SA exploring (I think he even said something like that once during the game).
Well, I don't know where to start...
Games can't have updates or what? "Why this game?" Um... Why not? Every game - especially multiplayer ones - have updates. This particular update was so hyped, cause it added whole new area, that wasn't in the game before, with brand new items/materials/etc.
And ALO was created by RCT as attempt to restore fulldive VR-games reputation. Their target audience were new players, cause when ALO released all people captured in SAO were still playing it and couldn't play ALO. So, yeah, it's pretty cruel, but all those developers (RCT, Zaskar and others) never thought about SAO-survivours as their possible playerbase. Cause there were only 10 thousand of them (6k alive) and non-SAO-players like what, dozens or even hundreds of millions worldwide? So they just created their games for them, not for SAO-survivours.
The games' universe has a butterfly effect that affects all the games after. Characters that die int he show are now alive in the game's universe. There are new game only characters. Characters that were just supporting cast in the anime are now main/more important characters in the games.
Oddly enough, you still need to watch the show in order to understand what's going on and to know about character personalities and stuff. Especially Hollow Fragment because the game starts during kirito's fight with heafcliff and change from there.
Also when you play Hollow Fragment, I highly recommend beating the Hollow Area before you start clearing floors. That way you can have Philia in the main area with you and she can be apart of the story all the way through. There are a ton of events in the game that progress the story and they can play with and without Philia if you don't have the Hollow Area story finished. So it's better to have her be apart of the story from the start rather than playing through the game twice.
Maybe do some research before posting this, because now you sound like an idiot...
The game in on it's own timeline.
