For the future, though, have more choices and consequences like OP said. It sure felt like a lot of the points of interest weren't meaningful at all, and if you just knew where to go and what to inspect you can skip like 70% of the game.
Totally this. Watching the bts how they built the rooms etc. to be modular looks like there is huge potential for expansions and or modding. Sure there is lots of work in set design, script writing etc. but the core game is stable and built for exploring. The Arkham Horror range has tons of investigators, plot lines and beasties to pull from so fingers crossed we can get more.
