Game not launching Windows 10/11

Disabling full screen optimizations for testapp.exe in the game folder seems to work. You can launch the game from there, or create a shortcut, it bypasses Steam all together. testapp.exe can then be added back to your steam library through "add a non-steam game to library" thus letting you use any overlay controller settings you may need. Once it's been added back, right click testapp.exe in the steam library, go to properties and you can rename it to Geometry Wars. I tested it on Windows 10- i7 12700K / Windows 11- i9 12900K, 3080Ti's, DDR5, all drivers/windows up to date.

I've never had problems with the game.... Maybe it's a lack of compatibility with modern hardware that causes that

Game always worked for me on win10/11 but since I upgraded my gpu it somehow broke the game for me. Your tip works fine, but instead of adding testapp.exe to steam I just disabled fullscreen optimization on the geometrywars.exe as well, and it launches fine from steam now.

No issues on Win10 with Geforce RTX 3060. But I don't religiously update my drivers like most people do.
