How does one use the spinner/loom

Ive built both the spinner and loom but no matter what material I try I cant seem to use either. Im at a point where I want to make a bronze sewing kit to make bronze armour but I need a twine ball hence needing to use the spinner and possibly the loom. Anyone know what Im missing?

Have you tried a plant called Wild Jute ? thats what i used in spinner.

I havent found that plant yet so its probably why it hasnt worked with anything else. Thnx

If you have found yucca and cut that down it drops a white looking fiber, that is what I have used in the spinner to make the thread needed for the loom

Currently, if you stand on the side of the spinner (the side with the handle) while holding a material that can be collected from wild jute or yucca in your hand, the contents of the F key menu will change, so press the F key and set the material.
Press the F key again to start the process, then keep holding the left mouse button until it is finished. When finished, press the F key to drop the yarn ball. You can set the ball of yarn on a loom and create linen in the same way. I think I needed two balls of yarn.
You can collect up to 5 required materials, but the large capacity makes it difficult to carry.

Does any of this apply since update 1.1? If so are yucca and jute biome specific? I've explored the entire volcanic island I'm on and haven't found any.

Both exist on the Volcanic island there is a wild jute south of the biggest lake on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Yucca can be found on the north east of the island in the mini jungle patch just north of the massive lava shoot running in that same direction. Take a close look at the map, it's easy to see!
