Anyone get the pottery kiln to work properly?

In my game (as of 1/10), the pottery kiln is not firing greenware into bisque pottery. The only pot that "works" is the pigment pot because it seems to be fired as soon as it is crafted on the stone workbench.

What is the state of pottery in the 2.0 version?

It is too difficult to be worth playing if there is not a more reasonable means to get water than coconuts. IIRC, you could collect rainwater in empty coconut shells or fired pottery in the 1.0 version. There is no durable portable means to transport water (like a coconut or leather canteen), which is also weird.

I couldn't get the Pottery Kiln to work too.. According to the older version it was supposed to use charcoal, in order for higher temperature to enable solid pottery.. But it dioesn;t accept charcoal - onle wood, which cannot get the greenware into solid pottery...
You can still drink water from the river though... or the lake...

I didn't see an option for that when I was at the river and lake, but I'll give it a try. Thx.

Go to the river, Hold F, you will see an icon of a drop...

Yeah, once I knew it was possible, I searched the F menu and found the option.

Originally, I was expecting a key press option, so I was only looking on the lower-left corner. Only the T crafting option showed up.

With drinking possible, I can move up into the hills.

Looks like pottery is working okay. Not perfectly. The kiln is successfully firing greenware into bisque pots again, and they can be pulled out and used. Now, I'm getting the images of the red-hot and cooled pots stuck in the kiln until I do a load/reset.

Nope... i didn't start a new game - but filled the Pottery kiln wih wood - waited untill fire burnt out, but still no pottery bisque. And i checked the whole time the greenware pottery jars...

Are you using Q to manually place the pottery, or inserting the pottery using the F interact button? You have to use the interact button, which will automatically place the greenware in the kiln.

No, i used Q... ! Thanks for the info! i' ll try again..

I did it! Still doesn't work for me.. I even made a new Big Jar and used F to put it inside the Kiln and when the brown line finished and fire put out i used F to get it. Still Greenware...

You might not be letting it cool long enough. If you grab it after the brown meter finishes (and you manually extinguish the fire), then the pot is still red hot. You have to wait until you see a brownish colored pot material appear in the kiln. To be sure, press and hold F. Look for "remove products", which looks like 3 squares in a bucket.
