Game Crashes

My game was running smoothly when I played Hino's route. It crashed once when I tried to save but that was it. It also ran smoothly when I was playing Isora's route. When I started Toa's route that is when problems started. It crashed during the prologue for no apparent reason. It has also crashed 3 other times after that and I am still just a little into his route. There is nothing that seems to be triggering it really. It could be when it is changing backgrounds sometimes? But I am unsure. Is anyone else experiencing this? I started saving fairly often since it has crashed 4 times in the past hour or so and it doesn't let me skip after the crash either. It acts like I didn't read anything after my last save point. It is starting to get kind of annoying.

My game seems to crash often, i am on Hino's route, (only route i've played and only just started his route). And it seems to crash sometimes when saving or just at random times, might be a bug in the game that is making it crash randomly like maybe an error in the coding that the game has trouble reading, i have also just left the game running for a few hours without doing anything to see if it would just crash and it never did until i started reading a few scenes and then would just crash, if it is an error with the game and not my pc then i hope it's fixed soon.

I see. That sucks. I know for sure it isn't something with my computer. It also has nothing to do with background programs because the only thing I have had up while playing was steam. It definitely seems to be a coding issue. For me it happens when just playing the game normally and then it all of a sudden just closes. The save crash only happened to me once. I have also had a crash where the sounds and game seems to be working but when I click to continue to the next lines of dialogue it won't do anything like it is frozen, which makes me have to close the game and restart it. Crashing issues were supposedly one of the reasons why they delayed the game so much so it sucks that the game still has these issues to this extent after they said they were delaying to make sure it ran well. It wouldn't be an issue if it only happened once or twice but it has been happening fairly often.

yeah i agree seems like a coding issue or just a bug with the game, just hope they are planning to do an update soon that would fix these issues so i can play without losing some progress, which has happened when i forgot to save the game.

It's been crashing and freezing a whole bunch for me too, and I haven't even made it out of the general route yet. I hope they figure something out for it.

I was able to go through Hino's entire good route before running into problems. When I started reloading past saves to get the other endings and skipping the things I've read, the game would freeze, sometimes crash. A lot of the time I have to restart my pc just to get it to close. I started a new game to play Isora's route and have been skipping the read parts in the general route. It has froze twice so far, so I've been saving after and before each choice...Thankfully no problems when saving or loading so far, but I'm scared to skip through stuff now!

It seems to be crashing more and more the more I play. I took a break then loaded it up again and it has crashed 3 times in the past half hour. I am also saving at every choice. If there is a lot of dialogue between choices then I save before the next choice too.

The same thing has happened to me. I've only been playing 84 minutes and the game has already crashed 3 times. The first time happened when I tried to go back in the dialogue (with the x button on my controller). The second time happened while I was trying to safe the game (through the menu). The third time it happened suddenly during a CG scene of the festival ( I had to restart my computer because the game would not stop.) It is getting kind of annoying all those crashes. I'll start playing the game in windowed mode instead of full screen, perhaps it will help. I hope a solution can be found.


Update: since playing in windowed mode the game hasn't crashed. Correction it just did, but not in the way when I had the game fullscreen. It just seems to quit on me after one hour. The game just stops itself. And after I restart it I just start my last save. (I just try to save periodically now) Anyway. No other weird crashes as of yet, since playing windowed.

I'm not sure if playing in windowed will change anything. I have been playing in windowed the entire time and it has still crashed and frozen a ton.

Yeah, other than the whole restarting your computer thing, playing it windowed won't really help anything. That's how I've been playing it and it really just has a life of its own, crash-wise. For me it crashes more than it freezes, but it usually crashes while saving, which, obviously, with it crashing all the time becomes something you want to do more often, so it's sort of an endless cycle, at least for me

well glad its not just me. Crashing like all the time. But I'm pushing thru it anyway. Done 4 routes; on a true route now (just crashed for 4th time in that one). It's like i'm trying to playing FFXV (with that memory leak issue) except this game you could run on a tablet or possibly win95 if it wasn't broken, that is.

The game crashed for me during Hino's route but not bad enough to make it unplayable and then the crashes grew more consistent during Isora's route and I can't even finish Toa's because it crashes every few minutes.
