As in the end the only thing you do is find the right number for A and B. Which simply put is find a single, Go to the lowest number for A and b. Then raise the number by 1 or 2 until the single strength goes up. and well rinse and repeat until you start downloading it. After that listen to the strange noise made and bam that's it.
their is really nothing else to this game. And without the threat of something out their. You soon realize that their is nothing to be scared of. Their is no end state that can cause you to lose or die. hell i don't even think you would ever even see an alien. So i guess you could say the novelty of it wears off within the first hour or so.
But hey its your game dev, but if you ask me this is such wasted potential. As right now their is just no reason to play it more then i already did. Which is sad as this game could have been an amazing horror sim like welcome to the game. you have the scary noises. you areas where jump scares could happen. and mechanics like going outside to clean solar panels and rebooting arrays. Which like welcome to the game is points where you can get killed.
But i guess their is nothing to this game. Just a bunch of strange noises and blue balls.
Ps. i know this is a sim game. And i know your going the euro trucker or farming simulator route. That said unlike those games your doing something that feels like an exiting job. With real progression as your building up your farm or your trucker company. This your just some guy who sits on his rear end all day looking for sounds in space. even in real life that sounds boring.
no, not really.
your problem here is that you're fixated on "being scared".
not all games need to follow a "lose or die" formula
yup, his game. he is the one coding it, after all.
nobody asked you
bye!!
Second, I was sold by a number of different you tubers who did one shots of this game. On the idea that this game had some sorta fear factor to it. Hell it even has spooky sounds. In reality if i knew this was suppose be a serious sim game. I would have never bought it. as this game lacks much of what other sims games have to offer.
Third, and you are right their dose not need to be an end state to a game. Problem is their isn't anything else to it. Their is no real story, no real threat, and the game play is super simple. but hey if that's your thing then go right ahead. For me i want something with a bit of substance.
Forth is the fact that i am giving my opinion. i know it dose not change the fact that the dev has final say. That said it dose not stop me from giving an opinion.
fith no one asked you for your opinion.
six i await your next response as it will give me a bit of a laugh.
Your Upgrade System.
Put tech in there that basically triggers the horror aspects of the game. Think of the good old X-Com. The really old one. There was an upgrade you could research that allowed you to predict and track UFO movements.
That way you can keep improving the nice relaxing part of your game and live out your darkest fantasies in the other.
Maybe you like this idea. I would love for you to reconsider adding horror aspects. The current game supplies the perfect platform for it. =)
That said right now the game is just to simple. And a lot of the aspects to it feel very misplaced. Like take for example night time, Why is night pitch black? Sure it adds to the whole realism bit of being out in the middle of nowhere. But if this game is suppose to be relaxing. why bother making it a nightmare walking outside to fix servers?
This entire game is sending to many mix vibes. On one hand it is trying to be some sort of relaxing Sim like say euro truck. On the other it is doing stuff that fit very well for a horror game. As if the devs couldn't make up their mind on what exactly they were making.
Just a personal opinion though.
The first and most important is night time. Comparing the day and night cycles of say this game and something like Farming Simulator 2019. You would realize that this game is just way to dark. when you walk outside of your safe bunker you realize you truly are in the middle of nowhere. And their are no lights for miles and the only thing you can see are the silhouettes of the arrays. This makes going outside insanely tense as it plays on literately your natural fear of the darkness.
And yes this is something that can drastically change the way you play the game. As i had installed a mod for fallout 4. Which affected how dark the game was during night time. And it completely changed the way i travel threw the wasteland. as every step i took could be leading me closer to my doom. As i didn't know what was out their in the darkness. and that's when you factor in fallout is just a action rpg. a action rpg with little to no horror elements to it.
Next is just the core mechanics of the game. As lets be honest this game dose not even need to be a first person game. Their is no need for you to get out of your seat to go clean solar panels or reset servers. As that entire segment of the game serves no purpose besides giving them a reason for you to move, unless it was a horror game.
Next and most important part of the game is the signals them self. Which have an truly eery vibe to them. not to mention trying to get a reply is nerve wracking as you don't know what will happen if something dose reply. But in all honesty nothing would as nothing happens in this game.
So ya, i guess you guys just find spooky noises, pitch black darkness, and being in the middle of nowhere to be relaxing. i cant say i agree with that.
ps. i forgot to mention the radio, which in all honesty their is no reason it should even be in the game. as all it plays is old radio footage and unlike FS19 you cannot listen to music. only real reason it should be in the game would be as a way to either freak people out or avoird getting killed or at least allow me to play some music.
- This game is a SIMULATOR. It's built to (roughly) simulate searching for signals. Hence the name: Signal Simulator. It's not built with a different theme in mind (To my knowledge) and thus some of the tasks may not be fun for some people. Once again, this game is a simulator. It's built to emulate the tasks one would have to do in this position.
- The chance for a reply is only one percent. Its no wonder you haven't gotten a reply yet.
-The radio plays NASA archives for two reasons (That I've guessed):
1. Music would be copyrighted.
2. It fits the space oriented theme of the game.
Personal bonus: Always fun to listen to the good ol' space missions.
Overall, I think you're taking things you don't like about the game (Most of which are essential to the game.) and asking for them to be removed. You're not the only person that plays this game. I reccomend you lay off the entitlement.
I made a massive list of why the idea of this game being relaxing dose not make sense.if you disagree that's fine.. But in the end you cannot dennie that 50% of the game serves no purpose besides putting you in a compromising position. Why else would you need to run outside to clean the solar panels? what they cant just install a button on the console that dose it?
The second is that it is just a name. Take for example Welcome to the game. Sure this dose not seem like a sim game. But in fact it is, as it is a hacking simulator. Granted they added horror elements to keep things interesting. but in the end what you are doing is the same thing you would be doing in this game. Trying to accomplish something while avoiding death. which makes the game far more interesting then something like FNAF or some walking simulator with horror elements like layers of fear.
i already knew about that. Everyone who has been on the forms know that the reply chance is super low. Problem is i never seen anyone get it. So i am not even sure if that even exist.
dude you do realize that they can license music or make their own music right? What were you expecting some A list music to be on a random Indy game that is trying for the tiny niche this game built around it?
Also, you do realize none of this even addresses my complains. so answer this.
Why do you need to leave the console to press a button to clean the solar panels?
Why are nights so dark that you cannot see a foot in front of you without a light source?
Why did the dev put so much effort into the signals when they serve no purpose. He could have just made random number show up. no need to get spooky noises when this is not a spooky game.
How can you find a game that requires your full attention to play. As you are timed when trying to lock down a signal. To be something you can just glaze over and not pay attention. The only Sim games you can do that are ones like tropico or city skylines. Which do not require your attention 24 7. Hell even something like the hunter call of the wild. a game which has you hunting wild animals. Requires less attention then this game.
Also lay off the entitlement. if you don't like my opinion that is fine. But don't say i don't have the right to say it because you don't like it.
I think it could be a good idea if explored properly in the right way.
No need to shoot the idea down when it could be adding to the game in some way or manner.
No what truly makes it interesting is that your playing a border guard for a post cold war nation. Making decisions that not only affect your own life, But the life of others. And you have to chose between being a good person, Doing your duty, building a better world or just trying to keep your head down and your family warm and well fed.
Take that aspect away form papers please and it would be nothing but paper work. As in the end it is just a immigration officer or bureaucracy simulator. Meanwhile this game has an interesting concept. finding and acquiring signals form outer space in order to contact alien life. But in the end you never do contact it. Their is no story besides a i think 10 story signals. But you have no way to influence it or affect it. In fact after figuring out how to work the console. Their really is nothing that drives you forward. For me with this games atmosphere and even the way the console is setup. As just the idea of staring at the console only to look at that window and see something staring back at me. Is just terrifying when you think about it. But their is never anything their, leaving me feeling board and let down.
And one last thing about this, if you don't want it to be a horror game. Please for the love of god make it less tense. Up the gamma so that nights are not pitch black. Remove the spooky noises that you get for successfully downloading a signal. And get rid of the first person aspect of it. As their is no reason you need to leave your seat. as in the end if you want this game to be nothing more then turning a few nobs and listing to old radio broadcast so be it.
But if you ask me that is a massive waste of potential.
ps. if you want an example of a horror sim. Look at welcome to the game. As the game itself is simulating hacking, while being a FNAF esk type game.
