Okay. Do you maybe know games similar to this? Even if it weren't for the dev shutting this game down it didn't seem to have a future, a bit unfortunate that i only heard of this game when its dying.

There's games like this on roblox. There's LionHeart, which is decidedly more hostile.. uh, yeah, bunch of stuff like this. Maybe even The Isle may scratch your itch here.

I don't know much about Animal MMORPGs, but I can recommend The Wilds and WolfQuest Anniversary edition as good animal sims.

Yes its been dead for a few years but it was an amazing game while it lasted at least for me and i loved the community. Im sorry you didnt get to experience it. This game was one of my all time favorites.

i don't see anyone hating on it here though. Btw the dev made an announcement stating they will leave the game behind for good so they probably won't continue working on it.

Old thread, but I think some similar games would be:
Impressive Title (main game is shutdown but there are community servers out there)
Feral Heart (official successor to Impressive Title but no longer being updated afaIk)
FeralBound Online (fan made successor to Feral Heart, it'll get a Steam release eventually)
Animal Jam (largely marketed to little kids and a lot of stuff is locked behind memberships. Classic isn't on Steam but is the older version and has more oldweb vibes)
