bait and pot times

how long do yall let pots set in the water and what bait do you prefer. i typically let sit hours and use herring but im not sure if this is the best strategy

I let my pots soak for 12 to 14 hours, Bait, herring or the fish I catch

8-10 hours, whatever reserve of most expensive bait I have atm and then caught fish.

I'm not sure myself. I've been meaning to do some data testing and see the difference in catch numbers with soak time and bait. I've been soaking 15-20hrs. Its probably longer than I need to but again I don't have a good data set. I wish there was some kind of log book mechanic of the game to track numbers so I could build a data set.

If I soak for about ten-twelve hours, within the temperature and depth tolerances, I get 80 crabs in every pot, regardless of bait.

Does it even matter in this game? Seems that you catch full pots of crab everytime if you are not in rocky seabed.
Put whatever you want, where ever you want, wait until the pots are green and then pull full pots. Rinse and repeat.
There is not much of catch machanics in this game

Temp does play a role at exactly 4.0 C and correvt ,udd sand u will get 80 if ur undedr or over 4.0 u will get less 10 hrs is perfect no more then 12hra

agreed..there' s not much mechanics in this game at all..boat goes fast or slow, forward or backward left or right with no fear of engine malfunction or wear n tear( at least none that ive experienced anyway)
