My Ship Randomly Sinks

Before posting this, I get it. I know the game has MEGA bugs in it. I was able to install the BETA and stopped the game from crashing so I am actually managing to have some fun with this.

One thing I dont understand, and it is not a crash, is, randomly, while out on the ocean doing my thing and collecting pots, I get a message stating "Your ship has sunk. your career is over".

So, ..............ok................but, it never tells me WHY.... or how to avoid it in the future. NOTHING..just that it sunk and my career is done.

Does anyone happen to know why this happens in the game? I am confident I am dropping the pots in deep enough water so i don't get it.

Maybe a storm got you, as you say, the game dosen't elaborate why you sunk.

Yeah it’d be the storms, keep an eye on the map, and watch their direction of travel, got me a couple of times.
The real problem is that the weather is always completely calm, if you actually saw the rain, lightning, wave height increasing etc, at least you’d realise it!
Speaking of that, what happened to the big seas?, they were fun!

Crab boats are built to handle extreme weather, they shouldn't arbitarily sink, it should be due to misjudgement on the part of the captain; too top heavy, not judging waves correctly, and so on.

What if you're out, no where near a storm....then your drew drops 1 pot and BOOP....sunk. wtf. They need to state a reason for this sinking - not in shallow water, no where near land and there's no storms anywhere. Kind of frustrating.

Happened me twice in calm seas. I wasn't moving and no storms near. Definitely a WTF moment. Back to Alaskan Storm for me.
