Can't play the game

some sort of bug right at the beginning prevents me from playing at all. After the first screen, which is about the developer, I get a screen labelled 'control settings' and it's just stuck there. I can't skip it or dismiss it in any way. Does anyone know how to fix this

I had the same problem where the game didn't recognize the controller, to fix that:

1. settings>controller>general controller settings: then check the controller you have, I marked the xbox controller support;
2. library>game properties>general tab: steam input per-game setting>change to forced on.

The problem is that I don't even have a controller, only the keyboard

so try just to press Esc, that worked for me the first time when my controller wasn't working

Thank you! It worked. I see now what was the problem, the glitch was that it displayed NO text at all. It probably gave me the option to dismiss but I couldn't see it. Now I've finally managed to access the game. Thanks!!
