COTM vs Dracula's Curse OST

I know people have been praising the Curse of the Moon OST, and since it's supposed to be the Castlevania spiritual successor, I've been wondering what people thought about the comparison between it's OST and Dracula's Curse, since the games are closely related. What do you guys think?

Even the inferior sounding NES version is better than the CotM ost. I enjoy DC and CotM music ost’s too.

I prefer Cotm ost over Castlevania 3 ost.

I LOVE the Japanese version. In that video it def goes over the differences between the two theme for theme. Although I do think that they both serve their purpose.

This game music compared to castle 3 nes? There is no comparison castle 3 had some of the best music ever on the nes. The music in this IMO is average not anywhere close.

I don't even know at this point. The soundtrack of this game dude geez... I just cannot stop listening to it, and it doesn't want to exit my head.

But CV3 is CV3.

Wish you could "like" or at least acknowledge answers on here. But yeah I agree, I do like COTM and what it accomplished. But I would be lying if I didn't say I was SLIGHTLY partial to CV3. ESPECIALLY the Japanese version with those extra channels. It's definitely very groovy and funky. COTM had some great melodies and probably were a little more elaborate when it came to the arrangement size as well. But CV3 had that groove....

Both are great, and both have stand out tracks

in the case of CV 3, you have beginning, Aquarius, vampire killer, etc

In this you’ve got stage 2, stage 5, stage 7 and credits theme

Never heard this C3 mix before, but I think I prefer the highs and low blends of the Original ♥♥♥ version. Interesting idea, though.

The thread really seems to me to be a silly question though. Castlevania, easily. It would have been more fair to compare COTM to Harmony of Dissonance, perhaps.

Yes, the soundtrack works for the game, but it's mostly uninspired and forgettable. I did like the 3rd, 7th and 8th stages. I liked lots of the eerie jingles, too, but against Kukeiha Club?? You must be joking.

Well this seems to be what people were asking about. Especially how they compared the game itself to CS3. And yes, the japanese version is what I was referring to actually.
