The video pretty much speaks for itself about my experience.

A horror game that I'm 90% sure reuses assets since I swear I've seen these enemy models in other games.
The game is poorly designed and not really that scary. There are some jump scares that you might fall for but other than that I wasn't afraid at all.

There are hiding mechanics but they don't work all the time and I didn't even find myself wanting to use them. If Grandpa does catch you it's not really the biggest scare ever, or very detrimental to your progress. You'll keep all progress you made each time you died so each time you die you'll get a bit further.

When you actually beat the game (Which can be done fairly quickly, I did it in 20 minutes and spent most of that time wondering what to do), you're just greeted with a small cutscene with no visuals, only sound, and then a little screen saying "We'll be working on updates".

So sadly no I'm not going to recommend this game.

Attempt to hide from a one shot kills grandpa whilst fighting the broken gameplay.

My first issue with the game is the lack of hiding places; a bit of an oversight in a game where you're required to hide. A lot. The E key was also unresponsive at times. The E key lets you hide...

Hiding isn't any guarantee of success anyway; with grandpa killing me whilst I was hidden numerous times. The path through the house is also linear and there doesn’t appear to be a way to distract grandpa for any kind of advantage. There is also no feedback to help the player gauge whether he is visible or not, and when hiding it is difficult to locate ‘the grandpa’.

This fails as a horror too, with the bright, bland environment and the comically buggy grandpa/medieval peasant. It seems to rely on a loud alert noise for basic jump scares but they are so frequent and poorly explained, that it doesn’t work. This also clues you into the fact that the grandpa is possibly coming, but it doesn’t help with the direction. This part of the game was also buggy.

This is apparently going to be in early access for another 4 months but I think the game design on display is beyond saving. This just isn’t fun to play, and first impressions are everything.

There is also vomit inducing head bobbing.

Jesus.

This game is awful! The physics are terrible and the antagonist, Grandpa, can hear you from a mile away and walks through solid objects. There is no storyline and nothing is explained. Whenever Grandpa jumpscares you it plays a high pitched sound that irritates my ears and could potentially harm people with sensitive hearing. Don't get this game.

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

I got this game for free and I still want a refund.

I rate it so high because I really wanted to try the game for a long time and because I am used to play bad indie horror games. If you get it when is on sale, than is worth it, but the full price is really not worth it.

The game can be fun once you learn the map and how to avoid Grandpa, but for most new players it will be really annoying. I recommend watching some players speedrunning the game.

The game is not very different from other survival horror game, so there is not much to say about it. You are captive in a house and your goal is to get out of there.

Grandpa is yet another first person surivival/puzzle/steath/jump scare game. This one is utter shovelware made with Unity, completely unpolished, released as early access and abandoned with more bugs than content. You start the game in a decrepit house chased by an old man with a rake and you must dash between hiding places and search through drawers for the correct puzzle items to progress the game. The old man will kill you instantly with the rake if he catches you.

Being killed (which happens often) is a minor inconvenience as you keep your state, so it's just a matter of plodding along until you finish the game. There's literally only 8 minutes of gameplay here. When you finish the game, the most terrifying message is presented to you... a threat that the developers will work on more games. This must not happen, as the entire body of video games is notably diminished by this sorry endeavor. The $4 price tag adds a Tim Burton like twist to the existing horror of this game.

This isn't a horror game. Grandpa is just an abusive ♥♥♥♥, taking out his tunic and cape insecurities on everyone around him.

Jokes aside, this game isn't worth $4. It's mostly stock assets, and nothing in it works all that well. Grandpa detects you while hiding, locks you've opened get stuck in the doors, doors themselves have poor use detection so they don't open at all sometimes, the list goes on.

To make things worse, it's debatable if Grandpa is actually killing you or just knocking your candy-ass out and dragging you to your room. All of your progress maintains across your "deaths," including you carrying whatever object you've recently picked up.

The horror elements are mostly jump scares, with a few generic creepy models doing weird stuff just out of your reach. One ghost that looked like three others looked like he was in some anal-probing device... I don't know what kind of medical bed thing that was otherwise...

Don't waste your money on this one. Just look up if your favorite Let's Player has a video lampooning this never-to-be-finished 15 minute waste of time.
