Question about game and sequel timeline
I am told that its better or you get the most out of playing 2 before Nightmares. Is the second game just adding more context to the first or is it BEFORE Nightmares canonically?

theres things in that specific version of 1, that only make sense after 2 and the events that happen in it.
if you're playing 1 here on steam, you're fine to play in whichever order you want, the steam version is the original, so doesnt have the extra unlocks, same as the vita version i believe. If you're playing anything else, 2 is likely better to play first, then 1

that breaks it down if you want to read more, but basically "if you're playing 2 on switch/ps, just do that first"

So is 2 on switch a stand alone game?

2 on switch is its own game in the same setting, you'll learn in its events where it takes place in the time line, it is part of the games plot. The important thing is the switch version comes bundled with 1, and THAT version of 1 has content related to 2, that will not make much sense without learning the time line related plot.
if you're on switch/ps
2>1>probably 3 if it comes out in english
on the steam version of 1 it wont matter, the tie in content from 2 doesnt exist. You're fine doing 1 first since at that point, nothing from 2s plot can be spoiled

I'm also a bit confused on this. I have for switch cause it came with 1 for free.
I'm at part where I just killed 2nd core and it does feel very much like they skipped a bunch of stuff.
But the that is bothering me the most is at start of nightmares it says if you beat the previous game you answer some questions and proceed directly to the tower. But it seems there is no previous game. Does it mean part 2 then?
Should I put the rest of nightmares on pause and start 2?
