Graveyard Boss Question , help a noob pls( Minor spoil)
Heya,

So I have a little problem, but first of all I have to say I'm far from a experienced player in dungeon crawller game so it could totally come from my lack of skill but still I have to ask for help

So I'm currently at the Graveyard , at the point when you rescu the loli girl, and when you meet the demon fire boss with two sword.
But I can't beat it , he does massive damage to my girls and even one shot some of them.

I tried farming a bit and they respectively (from Snow White to Red Hood) 15 15 13 13
As for the stuff, same I tried to upgrade as much as I can with the gems I had , so most of the stuff are above +5 , but some accessories are only +1 or +2

With Jack I always try to either Deffend Sleeping Beauty (since her Thunder Skill is the weakness of the boss) either protect RRH because she can heal

But even with that, this dual sword fudger still killing my girl in 2 turn if I don't spam heal skill or heal item , which just make the outcome further.

That's why I come to ask: Do I do something absolutly wrong, or do we really have to farm to level 25 or something even tho' the "story" hurrying us forward to save the girl ( role play speaking ) ?

TL;DR: My girl are lvl 15 , stuff are 50% above +5 50% around +3 , I still can't beat the Fire Demon Dual Sword boss from Graveyard recue mission , Did I did something wrong or should i just farm 'til lvl 99 ?

Thanks you very much

P.s: Sorry if my english is wrong or if the question is obvious, again I'm not experienced in dungeon crawler.

I had Alice and Red on 15 and the other two on 16 when i beat it although it was not exactly easy.
A little luck will always be involved, such as it not using both attacks on the same Maiden in one turn.

I also had not changed Jobs then so i think the biggest difference would be the skills at that point.
Snow white would actually be your best support and healer by the time, even if you have EX healia on Red, it is not cheap. Also Red is the only one besides Sleepy that can learn a lightning attack at that point and it really makes the boss bleed. I did have her heal on occasion.

Im not sure about Jack but i rather had him purge corruption (due all the heavy damage) and use items for healing and reviving rather than guarding. I could not afford him getting hit and then stunned for multiple turns.

I guess one thing that made it easier for me was having Alice fully upgrading charge and Pound, and using both to deal 750+ damage in one attack.

With just above 2700 HP (i hope i remember that correctly) on the Boss, most of my DMG came from Alice, then Sleepy and a bit from Red.
Snow White exlusively healed or buffed.

Your equipment actually sounds better than mine. Although i did have a great weapon on Red, tanky armour on her and stat boosting armour on snow white, all from merchant encounters.

Are Sleepy and Snow white in the back row? did you level many skills or focused on maxing a few?
Dont put all your points in lightning skills, that wont work well on the Nightmare afterwards.
Oh and after beating the Marchen you dont have to step on the encounter to destroy the core. (you have to beat the nightmare for real afterwards, as usual) You can take your time and recover/train since the Nightmare wont be easier.

Thats it from me (and im not an expert, those are only my thoughts). Knowing about how you did your skills and the rest of your setup could help.

Yeah they were tough. Took me forever to finally kill them on Horror difficulty because they had a lot HP lol.

Change Alice's job to Paladin with Cover skill and and let her use it every turn should help. Never defend with Jack but rather let him use heal items and purge corruption when needed.
Thanks for both of your fast replies it will greatly help me

And knowing now the health pool of the boss let me now see that I was close to do it ( since I must have reached around 2K dmg before dying)

As for my Job I didn"t changed them yet , since you only got the two new girl this mission (again role play speaking you meet them and should rush to the boss to save Alice RRH and the new girl)

As for the skills they go as follow, even tho' I choosed them before I met the boss and did that just on my speculation and "rpg/comba thought":

Snow White
----------------
Healia 2/3
Hypno Burst 2/5
Hollow Vision 2/3
(I mainly use Healia when all the team suffer from damage and Hypno Burst to do AOE and try to sleep ennemies. Hollow vision if for when I encounter a lot of ennemies at the same time to boost my evasion)

Sleeping Beauty
----------------------
Thunder 1/5
Poison Bullet+ 1/5
Amber Red 2/5
(Amber Red is for AoE , Thunder is for ennemy weak to ellectricity)

Alice
------
Water Attack 2/5
Pound 2/5
( Pound is for heavy cost heavy damage, Watter atk for light cost ligh damage. It also serve for water weakness. Didn"t unlocked surge back when I choosed it and I find charge too slow when there is only two girl in the party)

Red Riding Hood
-----------------------
Splash Bomb 1/5
Fire Attack 1/5
Heal 2/5
VY Blast 2/5
( All ellemental are for ellemental weakness, VY blast beeing upgraded becase AOE and Heal upgraded for healing)

Now we mention it I have some CP Held left , and since you both fought the enemy slightly above my level (even tho' I don't play in Horror) I will probably farm 2 level more , use my CP in the skill your recomended me and try again.

Thanks for your post and tips !
Will let you know if I beated it and how went herp derp nightmare fight !

I did it on normal and as i said it was a struggle. I had the feeling that if the fight drags on for too long, it will win since it was difficult to recover after getting hit really badly.

Yeah,i can see why you choose which skills. Your explanations make sense.
I also thought that charge was not worth it at first, and it was not.
Until i gave it a try and maxed it. It really works well with heavy attacks like Pound. Dealing more damage than 2 Pounds and for less SP. Really takes CP investment though, my Alice had nothing but Charge, Pound and Water Attack, up to you if its worth it.

Oh and the Graveyard Nightmare is weak to fire and strong against lightning. But you get Thumbelina before facing it and she can also learn that. In case you spent all CP on something else to beat the Marchen.

Hope you can do it!
Alright then I will invest on Charge if it also work on SP attack (thought it was only for normal attack) and will see how it will work.

Will update this later :)

5 days later nothing - guess it didn't go well.

Just killed those two on normal difficulty.

First boss. Jack heals 100 HP to all girls or resurrects one girl with 25% HP with items. Snow White heals 100-150 HP to all girls. Red Riding Hood heals ~200 HP to one girl. Girls were level 14-15 with average equipment (not upgraded), basic skills (almost 10 CP unused). Boss usually just damages 1 girl. If he does a double attack and gets lucky he kills one girl. As long as you resurrect dead girl and keep all girls at max hp so that they are not one-shot he can't do anything to destroy you. Important thing is to put Snow White and Sleeping Beauty in the back so that his damage is halved against them - they have low defense so they will be killed in one attack if they are at the front position.

Second boss. Used Rabbit hole to go back and heal at base before destroying the core. Spent all skillpoints on different single-target skills to prepare for battle. New character that joined had a single target Thunder and Fire spells that were boss weakness in some parts of the battle (they change as you destroy his layers), so she carried the battle. Alice had multihit attack but it costs too much so was only able to use it once (and she missed two out of four hits). The rest was the same - heal everyone, resurrect if someone goes down. New character went into massacre mode after getting a weakness hit once, so was able to do increased damage (~700 per attack). Eventually boss died.
Well unfortunately I was quite busy this week and yeah I didn't beat the nightmare yet
I can now perfect the Fire Blade boss with the good technic , but I can't beat the nightmare yet

Thanks for giving me another help with your post and explaning various technic to make it work, I will try to learn from that and try again.

Don't worry I didn't forget this thread at all, I was just a bit busy here and there and couldn't play much !
Will be back when I did it, I promise.

Edit:
Can't beat the nightmare for now and I'm kinda tired of it
I respect people that like turne based comlbat game, but a boos that one shot you and can attack two time in a row while none of your character can is what I call bulls**t
I like the art of the game but not sure I will try hard the boss
Eventually I will just give up

So will see.

Thanks to fhose who tried to give me tips on beating him , but maybe turn based are just not my type of game.
