Pixel Game Maker MV

Instant Crash
I've tried running both the benchmark test, and the "Witch and 66 Mushrooms" demo, but the instant the Pixel Game Maker window pops up, it crashes. Doesn't give me an error about DLL files, or anything.

I've already tried clearing my steam download cashe, with no luck. :(

I'm using Windows 7, and downloaded the files listed with the benchmark test, to no avail.

Turns up Adobe Reader uses the same dll. This was turning me crazy. Tried most online guides and nothing. To think it'd be the most random comment online that'd solve this.

Alright, having even more issues. :(

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling all the packs needed for it to run. Now I get an error saying that msvcr110.dll can't be found, despite it being in my system32 folder. If I copy it into the game folder, then I get an error saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Likewise, if I try starting from steam (as opposed to the .exe file), it just doesn't start.

As a side note, when looking into the "img" folder of either projects, many of the images don't let me view them, saying they're corrupted. I've tried downloading the benchmark test more than once though, with the same files always showing corrupted.

The issue is related to visual studio installing the correct files into Windows' system folder. I ran into this issue on my surface pro and 5o resolve it, I had to grab those .dll packages manually off my desktop and place them in the correct spot.

Hmm, nothing ended up on the desktop. Is there any way to tell what files need to be moved, and where to?

Alrighty, tried uninstalling/installing the packages AGAIN, and now I'm back to the original error. The game window opens up, but immediately crashes. T-T

I can't find any error logs to send over, and the crash window simply says "Pixel Game Maker MV has stopped working"

I'm finally back on a PC from traveling.

What I had to do to fix the problem was research where "msvcr110.dll", etc. existed in the Windows installation, find whatever missing files I was getting the error for, and then drop them into the correct corresponding folder. Since my Desktop PC was working fine with all demos, and my Surface Pro was not, I simply copied the missing files, and placed them into the correct spot somewhere in the WINDOWS directory. I don't remember where, unfortunately.

But that's essentially how I solved the problem. My Surface Pro is running Windows 10 Pro while my Desktop PC is running Windows 10 Home. I think maybe there's something wrong with the Visual C Studio installers on Windows 10 Pro, but hard to tell.

Hope that helps.

Hey! I appreciate the response, although it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue.

I no longer receive any error prior to the window opening. Instead, as soon as the window opens, the screen stays black for a moment, and I get the error "Pixel Game Maker MV player has stopped working"

Hi, could you tell us which version of 7 you are running?
