Here is a quick guide to detections. There are 3 types of detections: Wall Detection (green box), Collision Detection (blue box), and Attack detection (red box).
- Wall detections (green box) can only run into other objects wall detections or Tilewall detections that are setup in the object settings. Both objects will need to make sure the proper groups are set on the Wall detection portion for them to hit each other or trigger conditions. It's important to note that Field of Vision also can trigger off of Wall detections and they are one way detections which can be nice for certain situations.
- Collision detections (blue box) is the normal 'hurtbox' of the animation, aka the area that you want the animation to be hit in. Collision detections cannot detection other collision detections, matter of fact they can only detection Attack detections.
- Attack detections (red box) is the 'hitbox' of the animation, aka the area that an attack or bullet can trigger a hit from. It can only collide with Collision detection and nothing else.
Attack detections automatically trigger a hit (dmg, invincibility) by default, but there are some conditions that can also be used for specific situations. They are found in the conditions settings of action links. Just remember wall detects wall, collision can detection attack (manually), and attack can detection collision (both automatically and manually).
