Engine is very slow.
The game I'm working on is fairly big but not anything the engine shouldnt be able to handle. The loading blip is constantly popping in and out and the is lag between every single action I take. Changing tabs, selecting object, links, scrolling and playing animations. Everything has a seceond or more of lag. It make it impossible to work with. Does this mean the game is at it's limit of data/objects/animations? If so there is no way to make more then a short proto demo with this engine. I was hopeing to complete a full game with it but the workspace in the engine is too slow, constantly loading. Anyone else have this problem?

I've been involved with some pretty large projects (Mira and TImothy Tower of Mu being the biggest ones). Timothy was 1280x720 base resolution, Mira was same with tile size of 64x64. The only real delay I would notice would be the initial loading and the load into playtests, other then that it was all manageable.

I have seen tech support projects and what I noticed are very large scenes with a high res base can lag and also 8x8 tile size also can lag the editor a bit.

The game itself runs fine, it is very small resolution 512 by 288, it's strange all of a sudden the engine side is lagging all the time. Might be my machine needs a reset or something. I verified files and it works better in objects tab, but as soon as I play around in animations tab it starts lagging on most other tabs.

Does the engine side use the CPU more than the GPU? My CPU is mid, maybe time to upgrade.

I have the same issue on a side project on my brothers PC. only animation frame are hacky slow and load all second. thus was yesterday , and before there was not such a problem. it must have been something with latest update.
I hope there is a solution soon .

I have dual hardrives, an SSD and a mechanical one. I found moving engine to SSD helped a bit, but the animation tab still loads everything really slow.

last time (yesterday) i made a quick check. All seems smooth again. maybe fixed now. :steamthumbsup:

I think verifying files in steam properties makes it work better, so I do that every time before I start it.
