Beat'em up game after ver 1.00
So, I know there's a thread long time ago someone asked if possible to make Beat'em up with PGMMV.
Dev team answer was not really possible, but I know there's some of you that trying to make one...

So, after getting out of early access how about now?
Is is still possible to make non-liner beat'em ups? or still same as last time, not exactly possible without few fatal flaw's.

I'm wondering if I should choose either this PGMMV or Click team fusion for beat'em ups.

Yeah, I don't see why its not possible to make a beat'em up style game. You would have to fashion it from nearly the ground up but there is no reason it would not work.

I don't recall the dev team ever saying that it wasn't possible. I recall them stating that it would take extra work to put together. Though in recent announcements they did state they would look into providing a sample project so we have a base to start off of.

Take a look at Dot Zo Games on Twitter for examples of a beat em up game in PGM.

Yeah, you're right Abstract, but it seem that its really are hard thing to do.
Also, I've seen a footage of Dot Zo game.
They never release information on game that we might could take look at it as sample tho.

Also, Japanese PGMMV community on 5ch stated that, just implement "height" on top view mode would simply do make beat'em up easy.
(Also I've heard from someone here that using -Axis would do that trick)

I thought not only sample but some sort of belt scroll Implement on tool or plugin is underway during early access but I think I'll wait until someone provide a tutorial or sample project.

I've been testing making a Beatemup.
I started with Topdown to make it basically.
It's not much different from a top down action adventure game.
You would lay out the stages in such a way and character works and detections in such a way that would equate a betemup.
It's really not that difficult.

Yap. I saw.

Just looking at sample, that's how it goes in PGMMV I guess.
I kinda dissapointed that sample game was unfinished and lacking like rest of the sample and doesn't come with jump gimmick but its something.
Clickteam Fusion's beat'em up engine was not even better so will see how far I could go with PGMMV.....

Is this sample game made with side view or top view as the base template? I'm looking at the project file but I'm not sure.

Top Down view.

if it's about jumping i think it will be like this:
1. Crouching animation: save y coordinate to yTemp
2. Jump upward animation: basic jump, uncheck "ignore gravity"
3. Jump peak
4: Jump down: if y > yTemp then do landing jump animation
5. Landing Jump Animation: check "ignore gravity"
