Tennis or Dodgeball game
Hi there! Since i'm planning to get good with this engine and make all my project with it, i was wondering if it's possible to make a tennis or dodgeball game (scripting and the like), in the same vein of Super Dodgeball for nes or Mario Tennis for gbc. My idean was an adventure game with occasionally some dodgeball battles (or tennis, depending on if dodgeball can be made it work on PGMMV or not). Many thanks in advance to anyone who will help me!

if you hit the ball then the ball jump. that's it. If you know how to make a character jump in platformer games then making the ball jump is exactly the same.

if you make it into 2d like this where everyone is in one single line then yes it's possible & easy.

if it's like typical beatemup (bareknuckle, double dragon, etc) then it's possible but it's a bit tricky, especially when the ball fly diagonally. The ball will use the "jump"/"gravity" mechanism while the ball's shadow's Y coordinate will controll where the ball will land. You might need to do a some trial & error to make the ball looks natural when moving diagonally. Hit detection happen between the characters' shadow & the ball's shadow. You need to do more checks if the characters can jump high or the ball can fly above the character's height.

if it's top down vertical .. dunno but it's probably similar like above but making the ball look natural & the hit detection might get even more difficult.

I really like the 2d one, my game is single player anyway, never tough of putting multyplayer in ANY of my games and never will. So... how to do it? xD
I mean the 2d version like the one in the video, of course.
