Edit: I did it. 100%! I was missing a chest a in a secret room behind a hidden wall in the blue area (2nd map). Going for ending B now. Aside from that, I guess I'm done. I'm going to update my review since I initially wrote it a long while back.
BTW, walking back through all the old areas and getting to read the various notes again was a lot of fun. Now that I know the whole story they took on new meaning. I smirked when I found the one about not trusting runes in your spell book because they might be altered by bound entities. I wish those notes were recorded in your log like how the besitary is, but then that wouldn't make sense for a dumb Barbarian to record stuff like that.
Blob, DrSkipper, all the other devs who worked on this gem, thanks for all the help. From updating your game to fix my slowdown problem to all the hints you've given, you have my gratitude. Batbarian is my personal GOTY and unless you want me to throw my vote behind a different award I will be voting as such in the Steam awards.
One last question... Is there any difference between the male and female barbarian aside from looks?
We def wanted to have a log of the lore too, just didnt get a chance to create it. It's already surprising the barbarian can read at all, so why not keep notes :p
And its great you noticed the connections and meaning of all these dispersed notes and to let us know you did! Writing this was a lot of fun, but I wasn't sure if the lore was too obscure so it's always neat to hear that it made sense in the end :D
The heroes have no gameplay difference, just visual!
You know what would have been cool... if there was a D ending where the barabarian reads the book at the end. It would have been funny! :-D Also, I'm glad I did those extra super brutal Guardian challenges because it filled in some of the blanks about the Guardian's story for me.
Also, if you guys do end up making a sequel, you better include Nemah as a companion! Thanks again! I'll be watching to see what you all do next!
Edit: Damn! The Steam awards don't let me write in my personal choices! Oh well...
Heh, I m sure the barbarian read the runes in an alternate reality :P
That would have been a visually very different ending from the campfires endings tho hehe.
Ya, steam awards nominations were a few weeks ago. Now its whoever was nominated that can be voted for only :/
Appreciate the intention though!
