Slow video playback at 60fps and buggy playback of heavy video files (5k+ video lags)

Hello everyone! I found on this forum an interesting discussion about video decoding.

It helped me to solve the problem of slow video playback at 60fps and buggy playback of heavy video files.

To improve video decoding, you need to install K-Lite Codec Mega Pack, LAV Filters and Codec Tweak Tool.

Select in LAV Filters:
LAV Video Configuration -> Video Settings -> Hardware Decoder to use: -> NVIDIA CUVID
and
Select in Codec Tweak Tool:
Win7DSFilterTweaker: -> Prefered Decoders -> (Everywhere LAV)

Just to add to this, CUVID is only for NVIDIA GPUs. Otherwise choose DXVA Native.

KLite Megapack explains this in one of the help files for hardware decoding during installation.

Make sure you reboot after the installations mentioned above to obtain the performance benefits.
