let me know if you find a fix. I'm in the same boat as you stutter wise. I have the same vr headset and gpu 3070rtx and g2reverb
I know the solution =changing cpu to gpu acceleration in the Lav Filters, but that solution crashes the VR Player and Steam VR and sometimes the USB connection has to be swapped out.
AMD is working on it, so we'll know upon updated drivers.
If you have Intel cpu then you can try my fix and let me know if it doesn't crash the VR.
Find your lav filter video config if you pinned it to start or from k-lite codec pack the codec tweek tool (find lav config in direct show filter config) and in LAV Filters change hardware configuration pop down to NVIDIA CUVID. NOw when testing the 5k-8k vids view a bunch for a while, becuase sometimes this fix works for a few vids or few minutes then the crash or spinning occurs frequently again including telling you your fresh batteries are low already.
Let me know the result, because this might help figure out if it's the conflicting chips that is causing this.
yea its 50/50. I do have a intel
Then try using Intel Quick sync as your lav hardware accelerator setting instead of cuvid or none or dxva2, see if that helps some or most stutter using the cpu, if that doesn't work use dxva2 native as the graphic acceleration relay to the intel cpu and that should be much better (smoother but sound lag still exists) as long as you don't get crashes/blue screen/uncontrolled spinning.
5k 60fps videos play okay, but can't even dream of using SVP4 Pro with this.
5900X, RTX 3080. Latest LAV Filters, DeoVR in directshow mode, CUVID decoder.
I don't think we are doing anything differently.
I've seen that too high resolution crashes apps though.. Can't go much above ~3000x3000.
Sometimes SteamVR defaults to about 3700x3700 on Auto when you check per-app resolution..
