Cannot play videos in VR mode anymore since most recent update

Videos that I have successfully played in the past in VR now only want to show in 2D in DeoVR. This happened alongside the latest big update, where I also had my controls abruptly changed, though I fixed that.

In the Player there are choices for sbs and type of vr 180 200 220 and 360 or flat, they are hidden in the 2 choices at the bottom of the player as clicking them drops down more choices, perhaps yours is set to 2d flat unless you mean nothing is going into vr mode in which case:
In your PC Device Manager make sure no drivers are in error warnings, make sure you have no disk errors as well, scan your hard drive for errors, make sure windows mixed reality for steamvr is in your STEAM LIBRARY-you need it to operate your VR APPs if using certain headsets, Did you recently uninstall it or change a setting regarding loading it or have you removed it from your services processes? Also did you use any application to speed up in game mode, maybe it removed a necessary process for VR in slim lining what loads.
Also sometimes when your app crashes steamvr it can affect a lot, sometimes you find residual processes running for Steamvr bootstrap etc and not removing it fully on close can interfere will stability of re- running apps, so you sometimes have to shut everything fully before reopening or reboot and try again. If none of these solve your issue, I would replug all wires, still not solved, reinstall Mixed reality for Steamvr app, still not solved last resort restore point to previous point where everything worked. Could be a driver changed or got corrupted in a Windows update or a crash.

What he means is that the problem, since the last update, is that the sbs 180,220 etc don't appear at all. The buttons to pick those choices are not there for some videos, so they either play in 2d or flat 3d mode and can't be changed. Multiple people have mentioned it in this discussion forum but the deovr haven't acknowledged that they are aware of the issue yet.

Yes, this is my issue. I didn't see a post on the front page about it and thought it should be there.

I only have missing choices when using vids made with 3d combine so it's probably the missing meta data created in various video renderers that is causing it, however it's been good at auto selecting the proper size and version of vr for my reshaped for vr display or
2d-3d converted vr vids.
Don't assume the developers read these, you should write a request directly to them to add manual selections to the new auto select so you can override this issue.
