Unplayable game. The first 2 games in these series are ok, but the rest is is just bad. HOG's are a nightmare, since the game doesn't recognize anything you click. And you can't skip them. This must be the worst Hidden Object game I have ever played.

If you get this for free, you paid too much.

And everyday is groundhog day. Sadly this game isn't any better than the first Hidden Object game of the Series. While the first two games were point and click adventures, with a at leas mediocre storyline, this again is a grab bag failure. Timed Scenes, Riddles that are recycled a hundred times even back then, and the missing voiceacting are making sure of that.

All in all, this game works. But the graphics are a bit grainy, compared to more recent titles of the genre. There are also some "issues" with some HOG-Scenes, and well...

You have to play "Chronicle of Mystery The Legend of the Sacred Treasure" before you play this game. It is a direct two part game. I recommend you buy the whole bundle instead of purchasing this game separately. You won't know what is going on.

HOW TO GET RID OF THE HIDDEN OBJECT BUG(HOG)

a) For dual graphic card users, Nvidia or AMD

-Right click Desktop and click "Nividia Control Panel"
-Click on "Manage 3D setting"
- Click "Add" and select the Right "MystLauncher" assuming you have all games installed.
-On "selected the preferred graphics processor for this program" change it to "High performance NVIDIA processor"
-Click on "Apply" button

AMD users might have to do the same.

1. Download and Extract the files on Desktop.

Click on "Properties." Click "Local Files" Click "Browse"

3. Copy and Past the entire dgVoodoo files into the "Chronicles of Mystery The Legend of the Sacred Treasure" folder
Notice: "MS Folder"

4. Double click "MS" folder and open "x86" folder, copy and paste all files "D3D8.dll" to "DDraw.dll" into the main game folder with "MystSetupVideo.exe".

5. Open "dgVoodooCpl.exe" then click okay.
Double click "MystSetupVideo" and click "Okay".


CHEATS

c) Cheating hidden object timer.

You can cheat in this game on Hidden objects timer.
1. Simply press "Print screen" to take screenshot.
2. Go back out of the hidden object (the timer will continue where you left on if you go back in)
3. Alt-Tab, open paint and press "CRTL+P" or "Paste".
4. Once you find all the objects, just click the Hidden object area again and click everything you find.

Beware some items are hidden under Newspapers, etc.

d) Also another way to cheat the timer it use the "Pen Hint". Go back out and the Timer won't move and wait for the "Pen Hint" to come back. The Pen can be used infinite times. Suggest to save the coins later on.

REVIEW
This game has a better storyline than the last two Art of Murder Hidden Object game. It even doesn't have any resolution issues. Thought this game doesn't play exactly like the First Two Chronicle of Mystery games which are like Syberia. If you like the story you might like it. I can't recommend this to people who like Syberia to like this game due to all the negative reviews. But those who played a lot of Hidden object games would love the story line.

As per Chronicles of Mystery - The Legend of the Sacred Treasure this game is unplayable as items in HOG scenes aren't recognised when clicked on with a mouse and it isn't possible to skip them.

I don't really recommend this game as it's simply too short. Though if you can grab it on sale it's a quick couple of hours of entertainments.

Pros
-Interesting use of spot the difference by using a mirror image.
-Hint bar refills quickly.

Cons
-Some puzzles are either too hard or not explained well at all.
-Saw a spelling error (nit picky I know but noticeable)
-Very short game - completed in 2 hours.

This game sucks. No vocal dialogue just read everything. Glitchy hidden object scenes. I gave this company 2 chances in case just one of their games sucked but got burned twice.

I cannot believe that this game has 0% Steam review score...
Almost all reviews complain that game is beyond broken, that button pressing does not work, that nothing works. I did not encounter any glitches at all, all button pressings worked. Maybe I got extremely lucky, but it's just so weird that I did not encounter any problems and everyone else did.

+ The music is fantastic.
+ The story was very interesting, it kept mystery until the end, it ended very simplistic, but I somehow wasn't disappointed by the ending.
+ You can collect hidden gems and use them to skip puzzles.

- The hidden object minigames makes you collect lots of stuff you don't need. It extends the playtime I guess, but it does not connect to story or anything at all.
- There are very few puzzles. I don't get the pipe puzzle, it was the only puzzle I skipped with gems as for all other puzzles they were fun, but I guess they were too easy.
- Whole story and conversations are in text exept for the cutscenes, I wish that conversations had voice acting.

This continues the 'story' of the Legend of the Sacred Treasure, and manages to be even worse. I got stuck trying to find the snake's egg; the game shows some sparkles in the throne room (pointing at the arcade) but will not start a hidden object scene anywhere.
The walkthrough is wrong; it isn't possible to add the water to the pot before all ingredients have been gathered.
For the rest it has all the same flaws: objects in impossible places, objects of just a few pixels in size, non-working hints, timed scenes, etc.

First hog scene you have to move some vases or pots to reveal valves behind them but in the same time you are being punished for miss click with screen freeze, you have to guess right, great design stright from beginning :)
There is no voice overs, game runs in low resolution and looks ugly, and after couple of minutes I had enough and I'm far from being picky when it comes to hog games :) So yes cant recommend it to anyone.
