Your third hint did it for me, but even then I needed another 15+ minutes of thinking and experimentation, having probably spent over 30 minutes on this one beforehand.

edit: p.s. Made it through these, with some persistence and opening my mind to laser precedence and strategic interference; but the lessons didn't stick as I've since had my arse handed to me by 8 of the Into the Abyss puzzles, also involving advanced laser play.
My alternative solution: Put 1 connector in each window and connect it to everything (6 things). It ends up creating a circuit that can hold a signal for a short delay. When you stand in the middle close to where the windows are, you will see 3 laser intersections. If you want red you block blue here and you will see how 1 by 1 the laser intersections switch. When the intended laser is at the receive behind the button blocked door then you have to run to the button and you have just enough time to save the state. Then rinse an repeat, step by step.
Ha ha! That's the exact cheese solution I came up with! :) Just came here to post it and you beat me to it!
